22: Trade! Pick 22 comes along and the Vikes get unlucky: no Kinlaw or any of the stud tackles. So best option? Trade back! Here's the deal:

Vikings trade pick 22, 89, and 201 to the Seahawks for 27 and 59. Per the trade value chart that is 303 going out and 307 going in

25: DE Yetur Gross-Matos. This is a day one starter. He's a good run defender and a specimen for Patterson to turn into a beast as a pass rusher. Fills a huge need and is an exciting player.

27: Trade There are corners here like Igbonighe and Diggs as well as DTs like Gallimore and Blacklock. But there is value to be had in moving down. The deal: 27 and 206 for 36 and 99. Per the trade value chart that is 220 going out and 265 coming in. Trade Rick with the steal!

36: CB Trevon Diggs This kid is big. He's fast. He has tremendous ball skills. All he needs is refinement...so who better than the Vikings to mold this already awesome talent into a lockdown corner? Fills a huge need with a huge talent.

58: OT Lucas Niang. Mobile as all hell. This guy was born to play in Kubiak's system. Rick Spielman trucked children to get this card to the podium.

59: CB Damon Arnette Big, physical, ton of skills with this corner as well. Danchat is a fan and so am I. Getting him here is a steal and the depth chart at CB looks so much better!

99: OT Ben Bartch Keep this kid at home! He's big, he's physical, he's mobile. He's another custom fit for Kubiak's scheme. He can move to guard and be a factor with some coaching.

105: WR Van Jefferson He's not an elite athlete, but here's what he's good at: contested catches and crisp route running. Remind you of anyone? This kid is ready to step in day one.

132: WR Tyler Johnson We saw this kid play. He has outstanding hands. He's physical, he makes contested catches, he's a good blocker, and he is excellent running routes off of play action.

155: RB Darrynton Evans If you haven't seen film of him I highly recommend the effort. He's an elite sprinter and you see the speed on film. When he gets free, he creates separation in a hurry. He is outstanding at stretch plays where he makes one cut and puts that speed to work. His vision is ridiculous. He's not going to finish runs and his pass work needs refinement, but he's going to be a stud.

219: CB Lavert Hill Pretty pro-ready, solid corner. Not much to say here...it's the seventh round!

249: C/G Keith Ishmael Developmental guy...but reminds me of the profile of guys like Tom Nalen and others that Kubiak has had: Smart and Athletic.

253: S Jalen Elliot He's aggressive but didn't test well at the combine

What's that you say? Lev needs to unwind and has too much time on his hands? Yup....well, here is what would happen if Trader Rick moved UP in the draft. In this scenario, some WR and DL go earlier than expected which pushes the OT down. Jedrick Wills is still there at 15 and Rick can't stop himself:

15 TRADE OT Jedrick Wills - This is a pass protecting, mobile, monster of a prospect. The team gets their franchise LT. The price? Pick 22 and 89 and the Broncos toss them pick 252. The Vikings give up 299 points of value and get 316. A trade win!

25: TRADE You really think Rick would be fine giving up a pick? Nah...we gotta move down. So here it is: Pick 25, 132, and 205 to Houston for picks 40 and 57. The Vikings give up 251 points and the Texans give up 243.

40: DE Yetur Gross-Matos - In a stroke of luck...the player the Vikings would've taken at 25 is sitting at 40. How? I don't know...blame the simulation code!

Ha!  Yeah I saw that and thought....well this seems unfair.  I try not to play around with the simulation much (except when it has Tua or Herbert drop to 22....then I restart it.  Cuz that ain't happening).  

Draft Network has the best simulation right now but I think they are a tad down on Arnette and Niang compared to other places.
