Been awhile. With reports on Harris getting more and more bleak I believe he will be dealt. We ship him to Cleveland for picks 74 and 187. So we go into the draft with the following picks:

32, 34, 44, 58, 74, 96, 105, 116, 132, 160, 177, 201, 205, 249, and 253

Pick 22: A fortunate event happens for the Vikings. Jordan Love falls and QB teams come calling. They offer picks 34, 44, and 160 for picks 22 and 89. The Vikings get another high level shot at a talent and move down 12 spots.

Pick 25: The board just isn't great for the Vikes. Mims, Jones, Murray, Gladney and some others. But the team can deal back: 25 for 32, 96, and 177 to the Chiefs.

Pick 32: OG Caesar Ruiz - The best guard prospect in the draft.

Pick 34: S Xavier McKinney - A day one replacement for Harris

Pick 44: CB Noah Igbinoghene - A talented fit for Zimmer's defense

Pick 58: DT Russ Blacklock - A disruptive 3 tech

Pick 74: WR Devin Duvernay - A muscle hamster wideout

Pick 96: QB Jalen Hurts - I mean...the value is too good

Pick 105: WR Tyler Johnson

Pick 116: OT Ben Bartch - The Vikings trade picks 155, 187, and 219 to pry this pick from the Jaguars.

Pick 132: G Jonah Jackson - Slipped way too far

Pick 160: CB Michael Ojemudia - Solid corner for the Vikes to work with

Pick 177: DT McTelvin Agim - Developmental tackle with some serious upside

Pick 201: S Tanner Muse - Solid safety that can play right away and provide depth

Pick 205: TE Dalton Keene - I think this guy could become a quick fan favorite. Ton of upside too

Pick 249: DE James Smith-Williams - Freaky athlete for the Vikings to mold

Pick 253: JaMychel Hasty - I see a little bit of Sproles in this guy

One of the scenarios I've heard tossed around a lot is the "What if someone slips?". So the idea being to trade up from 22 and down from 25 to make that happen. Well....here we go:

Pick 19: The Vikings see Jedrick Wills and CeeDee Lamb slide to pick 18. They gamble that the Dolphins want their new QB Tua to have a stud WR and it pays off. The Raiders are on the clock at pick 19 and one of the big 4 OTs are there. The Vikings deal picks 22, 89, and 201 to the Raiders for pick 19. And yes, it took all of that to make it happen. The Vikings tried to find a way to recoup a late pick back but in the end the price was steep. But they get their man: OT Jedrick Wills.

Pick 25: The Chiefs eye the sliding WR Justin Jefferson and deal the Vikings pick 32, 96, and 138 for Pick 25.

Pick 32: CB Jeff Gladney - The Vikings get their feisty fit at CB. They walk out of the first round with long term solutions at LT and CB. They swapped out picks 89 and 201 for picks 96 and 138. Not too shabby.

Pick 58: The Vikings come to the board at 58 with interesting options: WR Brandon Aiyuk. CB Jaylon Johnson. WR Hamler, as well as LB Zack Baun and Josh Ushe. They want to get as many top 100 selection as possible so they call the Dolphins and land this trade: Pick 58, 132, and 201 for picks 70 and 92.

Pick 70: Best part? The guy the Vikings likely would've taken at 58 is still there at 70: WR Brandon Aiyuk.

Pick 92: One of the most gifted physical receivers in the draft: WR Chase Claypool

Pick 96: CB Bryce Hall - great fit for the Vikings

Pick 105: The Vikings trade back one final time: 105 and 219 for picks 137 and 140 from the Jags

This would be an A+++ in my eyes. You got Jonah Jackson that late. He could step in and be a starter this year. Aiyuk is my draft crush, well one of 10 of them. Wills would be a home run obviously

Because he could very well turn into a starting caliber WR and you'd only have to spend a 4th or so on him. The draft class is deep enough that he will likely slide due to said red flags.

Though if you're counting the off-the-field issues that have been rumored, I'm not sure if there's any validity to those.

alleged off the field issues, questionable athletic ability, backing out of the East West game and refusing to participate at the combine. If he wasn't a gopher i doubt anyone would still be interested

He'll certainly slide, but I think there will be teams who will be impressed by his tape and he won't fall too far.
