Am I the only one left who thinks JJ will beat out Darnold for the job in camp? It seems even those here that believe Darnold is a clown(as I do) are resigned to the nightmare of Darnold being named the starter for week 1.
Well, as I said in my previous comment, I am not 100% confident in the Vikings making the right decision either way it goes.
Not saying you, but I think some Vikings fans are thinking Mahomes and Jordan Love sat a while, and it worked out well, that means it's the right thing to do for the Vikings. That JJ will magically be great after sitting a while.
Mahomes and Love were two COMPLETELY different situations than what the Vikings and McCarthy are in right now.
JJ needs to play, he will learn zilch from Sam Darnold, and tell me what QBs Josh McCown has developed? Bryce Young started looking like a real QB after being away from McCown a while. KO is the head coach, and doesn't have the proper amount of time to develop the QB. The best way to have KO help develop him,is getting him out on the grass and playing some games.
Training Camp will tell us a lot about JJ being "ready" or not. I don't give two craps about "reports" from OTAs and mini camp.
Again, I believe JJ's performance in camp, and the preseason games, will make it very difficult for the Vikings to sell anyone on Sam Darnold being the best option to win games this season.
