Exactly, having that extra comp pick is nice, but let's not forget it would be around pick 97-100 in the draft. It stinks to lose it, but it's not an OMG we'll never recover from this loss.
Now we receive nothing for Hunter. I'm not really that upset about losing that late 3rd (which I consider an early 4th) and don't think the team should avoid signing players they want to try to play the comp pick game. But it totally invalidates that aspect of the argument against trading Hunter, since a trade could have brought this team a pick that could not be lost due to some NFL formula.
Oh well, to me it looks like KAM is afraid of drafting in rounds 2-3 anyway.
Players worse than Hunter went for more than a 2nd rounder and we can't even manage to get a late 3rd now either? All to sign a vet cb place holder early instead of just waiting until after the draft? It just gets annoying watching us miss out on any sort of value time and time again. It's not like their drafts or signings to this point have made up for it either...
Hopefully this offseason it drastically changes. I liked the moves in total and we added some talent so there is at least a chance he is finally going to make up for all the mistakes.
