Official Officiating Bias Breakdown

Packers referee log:

Walt Coleman is officially dead to me. And look, it's our old pal Cletus "sister f*cker" Blakeman on the wrong side of things again. On the other hand, Ron Torbert and Terry McAulay are looking like good guys on both lists. Walt Anderson was the ref who wasn't having any of Rodgers or the Pukers crap in that Atlanta game earlier in the season, but he appears to still be on the wrong side of this list.

I didn't know that seeing Morelli or Winter ref a Vikings game was quantifiably going to get the Vikings a loss. I just didn't like the officiating of their crews.

For those guys and Coleman, it isn't just how many flags are called but in what situation. How many times have we seen Coleman's crew call a penalty on the Vikings at a critical time or extend a Packers drive with a defensive holding call on a missed third down by the Packers? I didn't even notice how bad Blakeman has been to the Vikings or how good to the Packers.

If a referee crew is going to call penalties, that's fine as long as they call it the same both ways and in all situations. Corrente's Crew was known to throw flags, but I don't recall them calling it one way or the other. In this case, that one DPI flag not thrown today could have been the difference in this game. That is one bad non-call that one ref had poor judgment on. It happens, but it is still frustrating.

Tony Corrente is the Lions 2nd most favorable ref on the ratio scale, but it hasn't exactly led to many W's. Tony is doing his best for them, but they're not taking advantage. They're now 2-8 with Tony's help.

Meanwhile John Parry has been trying to screw them over and they've won 7 of 8 lol. I might have to check to see if I don't have a few things backward on the ol spreadsheet xD ... nope everything looks right. The win/losses just aren't matching up to the perceived favoritism.

yeah, I'd like to see stats on prime-time blowouts. If there's a fix, that's the smoking gun as I'd bet a chunk of change that the worst officiating happens when one team is getting killed on prime time like the Lions yesterday...

I'd also love to see the non-calls. Does PFF grade refs like they do players?

FYI, my spreadsheet error on the penalty data in the other thread had no effect on the data here. Cletus Blakeman is still a prick.

This is true, the officials have a different interpretation of the rule book for the elite QB's.

Stafford has the biggest contract, but the Lions don't get respect.

That was an obvious no-call though, so maybe the Vikings would not have been flagged unless the crew was different.
