How will KO use Darnold, and how will Darnold perform?

I think 6 wins, bad. I don't know about sub 60% accuracy though. I have gone on record saying the Vikings are probably not winning more than 6 games this year.

I guess 17 games, probably 62%, maybe 3600 yards, 23 TDs, probably 17 INT. Or maybe less INT but then more fumbles. I'd expect the TD:turnover to be close to 1:1. He just hasn't shown himself to be much better than that. He could, and Jefferson will bail him out a LOT. But eventually Jefferson will just get triple covered and they will dare Darnold to throw it 10+ yards to Addison or Hockenson reliably without throwing an interception. That's not gonna happen.

You gotta remember Darnold is gonna see a lot of 3rd and 7, 3rd and 8, 3rd and 9. KOC has no run or screen game, it's 7 step drops out the ass. Darnold is gonna struggle with that.

Darnold has a big opportunity week 1. Couple notes about the Giants D:

*New DC Shane Bowen, replacing the enigmatic Wink Martindale. 2 polar opposite schemes and human beings. Lots of Wink's ex-players that may or may not translate. Most Giants fans are expecting early season growing pains and conservative coverages.

*This Giants D is dominant up front. Dexter Lawrence is a problem. Andre Patterson has turned this guy into a monster, Hall of Fame NT. Brian Burns has been lights out off the edge. If you're a football purist, watching him battle Andrew Thomas in practice has been incredible. Elite pass rush & football IQ. MLB Bobby Okereke is really good, too and they've still got Thibodeaux. Top 5 front 7 in the NFL. This is the Giants key to victory.

*If you can scheme around the front 4, there are real opportunities. They have secondary issues. Tae Banks is a young promising CB1 and they love the rookie S Nubin, but as a group these guys are green, even with the re-signing of Adoree Jackson. The expectation is Bowen will be in a soft zone early, dropping 7, keeping his S's deep and relying on his front 4. Darnold should have some quick completions underneath. I don't see much time for long developing plays to Jefferson.

Overall, the Vikings have a good chance to steal a game on the road week 1 if Darnold can execute the short game and they don't have careless turnovers. It all comes down to controlling that front 4 - but it's a hellacious task. Giants are a tough team to score on at the end of the game thanks to that pass rush.

Good post from Giants fan. Tough front four Will make slow developing past plays harder to complete. It will be interesting to see the game plan for Darnold.

I would agree on Nabers, he is a big add for the Giants.   They should be better this year.  The problem is Daniel Jones - the most important guy on the field is mediocre on a good day.   They are going to have to draft a qb sooner or later.

we all saw the Vikings go from a 13 win team to a 8 win team so everyone thinking the Lions and Packers cannot do the same thing are deluded . The luck of the Lions wore off in the NFCCG and I seriously doubt Love will be able to throw accurate passes with both feet off the ground consistently like Rogers . The Bears have to show improvement for me to fear them . The Vikings have as many talented players as any team in the NFC and if the ball bounces their way and they stop fumbling and throwing stupid interceptions they could easily win 12 games but if they turn the ball over repeatedly and dont get some lucky breaks they could top out at 7 wins . Darnold has the tools to be as good as any of the QB's in the division he just needs to prove it .  I will predict my typical 10 win season that I always predict no matter who is playing for the PURPLE !   

Exactly. Football can actually be fun to watch. Definitely alot of miserable "fans" in here who seem legitimately bothered to have to watch the team play
