If you're talking about the #12 pick in 2022, they did get to be on the clock, the trigger was not pulled beforehand. The impetus was Jameson Williams being available, which is what spurred the Lions to want to move up. It wasn't a given he was going to be available there. Seems to me like KAM wanted to move down at any cost, given the terrible price they accepted and the quotes he said on the record (something along the lines of wanting more picks due to the team not having a core of young players to build around).
Ironic that KAM wanted more picks to develop a core of young players to build around. I guess we now have the "new KAM." Same crap as the "old KAM." I want "no KAM."
