KOC hasn't really split carries between RBs in his time as HC, even when his primary back was really bad (Mattison). It will be interesting to see if Chandler gets more carries this year while Jones is healthy or if he goes back to getting 3 or 4 carries a game like he was getting at the beginning of last season.
That is true, though I have to wonder if he copies LeFleur's approach and use Ty Chandler like AJ Dillon or Jamaal Williams, usually getting 8-10 touches a game even with Jones being in the lead. Given what happened last year it wouldn't shock me if Jones gets 80%+ of the touches until he gets injured.
Tough to pay a RB a lot when most don't play close to 17 games and rarely play at a high level into their second contracts.
Teams value the position, they just don't value RBs past the age of 26.
It is ridiculous that Saquon Barkley got as much per year as WRs Darnell Mooney and Gabe Davis in FA... but given the very poor success rate of paying RBs after the age of 26 it is justified.
