Two things in this forum that have created the most banter over the past year are (1) Kirk Cousins and (2) QBOTF and trading up. Topic 1 is gone. Topic 2 is now in first.
Those that want to keep all three of the picks have their reasoning. That system of belief is that a better team can be built with those three 1st round draft picks, two this year on another in 2025, and a former #3 overall pick at QB. It's not right or wrong, just simply their opinion.
Those that want the Vikes to trade those picks to Arizona or the Chargers, hell even the Pats, for the QBOTF are not right or wrong either, just simply stating their opinion.
It appears the main reason of having to trade up is because Minnesota can not settle for options 4 (maybe), 5, and 6 if the seriousness is there for a QB. Let's say the Vikes do trade up to 3, 4, or 5.
It seems to me that this is still settling, just further up the troth. So now Minnesota is settling for QBOTF 3 or 4. If Minnesota settles for QB 3 or 4 then they really haven't truly addressed the desire of many to draft that QBOTF. We don't know which designation belongs to which QB at this point nor do we know the complete scenario of picks 1, 2, 3, or 4.
It's time to put up or shut up.
If Minnesota really wants the QBOTF then they need pick #1 from Chicago, plain and simple. The only sure way to get that pick is to trade probably all three of those first round picks along with Justin Jefferson.
Minnesota would not be taking anyone's leftovers at pick 1. They will have their prized possession in the building. It will cost a lot but the QBOTF will be selected, whomever KOC/KAM have decided to be that future. This is the only way Minnesota doesn't settle in some form or fashion.
I have not stated here which opinion I hold so please no attacks.
