But now some want Darnold to start over McCarthy, because they think that will make McCarthy elite in 2025. Mahomes, Rodgers, and Love sat on the bench a while. That means McCarthy is in the same situation and it will work out just the same.
I will get grief here for this, but the Vikings are not set up the same way, and don't have the same resources and infrastructure as the Chiefs and Packers had when Mahomes, Rodgers, and Love were drafted. It is not set up for McCarthy to be more successful later by sitting now.
It would be a near fatal mistake and push progress back a few years to play Darnold this season. But to each their own.
I am hoping the Vikes make the right decision and trot JJ out there week 1.

Yes, the Chiefs and Packers could learn a thing or two from the Vikings on how to make QBs and the franchise have sustained success.
