I'm not ready to fully admit that...but most of me agrees.
I think KOC can be a winning HC but he needs to hire an OC to call the game, IMO. Lots of guys stumble in their first shot...but he walked into a loaded roster so, grading him requires a little more of a skeptics eye.
The running game is awful and the illusion of complexity is pure illusion at this point. Something is definitely missing.
Well I did say with the current coaching so I guess we agree. I look at it this way- even if he turns over play calling to someone (Phillips has good coaching lineage) can you picture him in a SB putting together a better game plan and making better in game decisions than coaches like Shanahan, Reed, the asshat in Philly or other top teams? In crunch time you have to be able to counterpunch better than the other guy.
I admit I have a better feeling about him than Chilly or Zimmer but it’s still hard to buy into
The asshat in Philly made me laugh. It's funny cuz it's true.
KOC is arguably a better person than Chili or Zim (speaking of asshats). But the day he was hired and announced he'd call plays my gut said "mistake". He's clearly a CEO type motivator. And there have been great coaches in that mold but they have to hire talented assistants and let those guys do their thing.
Since he managed to not only correct the Donatell mistake but hire a highly talented replacement, I would think he could do the same on offense. But will he? This organization is soft-headed and fantasy driven at the very top and they will tolerate years of average while he f*cks around trying to prove he's an offensive genius, which he clearly isn't.
So beats me where this is all going, other than more of the same shitburgers they've been feeding this fanbase for years.
