There’s only one individual who never wavered on Kirk. Maybe others but I know one for sure. If Kirk ever lead us to the promised land only one person getting props and a you was right us wrong and that’s Mr. Raptor man himself. All others playing both sides of the fence real talk.

As much as Funky loves Kirk and believes he can get it done, I cant stand mediocre Kirk and i KNOW he cant get it done here. Its just a waste of more years off my life watching some worn out QB making more millions than I will ever sniff. I cant express how over Kirk I am. Im tired of his name, his face #8, everything. If you love him, let him go (play somewhere else). I want young blood to try. And if they lose baddy, so be it. Its a good way to learn. Hall deserves a chance, Mullens does, Dobbs does, Kirk has had YEARS and done nothing other than pad his bank account.

I'm not sure how you've made that conclusion from anything I've said. And, no, I will never say that Zimmer had to go. Nice try. Ain't happening. lol. I've always understood the desire to try something new, whether it be Zimmer or Kirk, but I've also always been pretty "meh" about it; definitely not as eager as most. I like what I like. It is what it is.

Again, it takes a perfect storm - and even a bit of luck. Do I think Zimmer and Cousins could have gotten it done? Absolutely. I said that then, and I'll say it now. But it takes A LOT to go right. For starters, we needed to draft A LOT better. Sometimes you might have the right QB, but maybe not necessarily the right coach (Chargers). Or maybe the roster and coaching are both good, but injuries take over (Ravens, Niners, etc.) Again, it isn't just about the QB, or the defense, or coaching or any one thing. All of it has to click, and at the right time, ... and a little luck along the way generally helps, too. It takes a LOT to win the freaking Super Bowl. I used to hate the Patriots, but as I got a bit older, that turned into respect. Because at some point, you just have to accept that they did something truly special that we'll probably never see again in our lifetimes.

I'm never going to be a person who debates championships in a binary way. It's total effing nonsense. People buy into so many silly narratives these days that it just takes away from critical thinking and civil discourse. The latest one being: teams are essentially SOL if they pay their non-elite quarterback. We can all agree that quarterback contracts are outrageous, but that narrative takes it too far, ignoring so many other key factors. Just as any argument going full Cousins vs. Zimmer. So many moving parts...

Zimmer liked Bridgewater and Bradford. We know that. We also know he didn't want to pay huge for a guy he didn't know/trust, and more importantly, he didn't want to take resources away from his defense to do so. All valid points. He wanted to do things his way; Spielman thought he had better ideas. But with that said, when the decision was made, yes, Zimmer should have, as a leader, tried to really bond with Cousins. After all, they needed each other. Just as Spielman and Zimmer did, but then Spielman started ghosting people and not coming to work. What a hot mess really, with a lot of blame to go around. What an ugly divorce! Cousins probably deserves the least amount of blame, if we're just being honest. But people nearly had a stroke when they realized Zimmer didn't meet with Cousins weekly to prepare, but then also give crickets when learning KO doesn't meet with him either. People are funny like that. Guess people are right. KO doesn't love Cousins as much as he pretends either. lol.

But before Quarterback was a thing, Kirk earned my respect by how he handled all that. People wanted him to trash Zimmer and give some juicy horror story, but instead, he was basically like, "Nah, I've had my best years under Zimmer." Class act all around. True professional. Good dude. He probably could've played the victim a bit, but he didn't. And he earned more of my respect that day and really, since then. Again, he's easy to root for.

I also don't believe Zimmer has ever said his main issue was Kirk. Did he? See, a lot of people have been doing a lot of talking, but Zimmer has never said anything. The issues seemed more so between Zimmer and Spielman. That wasn't just about Kirk, though. He also wanted to choke him out for trading back and risking losing Darrisaw. Stuff like that. So yeah, lots of moving parts here. For sure Zimmer could've been nicer, tried a little harder to bond with Kirk, but I'm not sure, in the end, it really matters. Not when so many draft picks were trash and injuries piled up. That's the big picture I'm talking about. Could it have worked? Absolutely. But a lot had to go right, just as it would now for KO, KAM, and the roster.

Like now, so many people are like, "Kirk is so much better now!" Is he, though? Or is he just asked to do more because the defense still isn't doing its job and the running game is total butt? To me, for the most part, Cousins has always been the same guy. People can turn that into a positive or negative as they so wish, but Kirk is Kirk. We've just been given more access now with the Kirko Chainz video and Quarterback. But the work ethic, consistency, professionalism, good quarterback play, etc. were always there. Some just didn't wanna see it, I guess. Who knows? But I've always seen it, and I've never taken it for granted. I don't plan to start now.

Here's hoping this Sunday is a perfect day. I would love to see our new young starting QB explode onto the scene.
