I agree about zimmer and his philosophy and wanting Kirk over teddy. However I don’t think whoever our new regime will be (assuming offensive specialist for our new hc) are going to want to keep Kirk. He is proven over many years you can’t lean on him to win games when he needs to and he will not restructure contract. So you can’t go on with him and will have to find another qb going forward.

Gardner Minshew is someone I would be interested in as a bridge QB. He might be the perfect one to get if we move on from Cousins.

He's 8-13, most of that with Jacksonville, which even the most jaded Rick and Zim hating Purple fan has to admit is a much worse team than the Vikings are this last few years.

He's around 64% completion percentage, 39 TD's to 11 Int, and can move a bit. He's got a great Blue collar attitude and will do anything he needs to do for the team. Which would be refreshing as opposed to Kirk Cousins and his I make the more money than anyone in the building, but I just work here attitude.

I also think his personality would make him a fan favorite as a change up from Kirk's goofy dad personality.

The real kicker, $965,000 vs $45 million, admittedly that's just this year though, Minshew would be a FA next year.

I think Minshew with weapons like Jefferson, Theilen, Cook, Smith Jr. And Osborn could hold his end up.

He's not a long term solution, but would give you time to find and develop your QB of the future without having to panic throw him to the fire.

Before anyone scoffs at that record, Kirk is a .500 QB throughout his career and is way below .500 against winning teams. For all his great numbers, wins don't follow. If I can find someone cheaper and still finish with a similar record, why pay Kirk top QB money to do it?

He's under contract for the Eagles next year for about $990K. I'd make an offer of a 4th or 5th round pick for him, if the Eagles are up for moving him.

I'm not saying I'd give him all of 2022 to start, but I'd play the rookie QB if he was close to being ready. If not, I wouldn't mind rolling with a bridge QB, whether that be Teddy, Case, or someone else of that ilk.

So even if it's a 5th, Minshew is good enough that the Eagles can dangle him in front of QB needy teams this offseason and probably recoup a better pick than the 5th or 6th they gave up.

Now I'm pissed off. We signed Mannion for $990k 4 days after the Eagles traded for Minshew. Hot seat year, starting QB isn't vaccinated. Ohhhh I know! Lets bring in Mannion! It took this useless franchise all 3 preseason games to figure out Browning didn't belong in the NFL. I'm willing to bet he was their backup plan throughout camp, when they should have already noticed he was hot garbage.

Wait, what? Resting Burrow? I know it's slim, but they still have a shot at the #1 seed. Plus, the 4th seed will be playing New England or Buffalo. The 2nd and 3rd seed will be playing either the Colts, Chargers, or Raiders most likely.
