A lot of "realistic" fans who think this team has the talent to be more than a 7th seed one and done playoff team, but is being held back by the coach. Laughable.

That perfectly describes Skor North at this point, who are basically slamming Zimmer & Kubiak for every loss (they still would like Spielman to be fired, but don't talk about it a whole lot). I am kinda in the middle on the subject - early in the year, coaching was a major problem and the defense was not playing as well as it should have on with most everyone healthy. I think this team should be 7-4/6-5 at this point, but even then I want a Super Bowl caliber team, not just a "very good" one. There are too many issues like the continuously baffling OL moves, failure to bring in DE talent, and overpaying for a 'good enough' QB for this roster to be great.

Between 2017 & 2020, the Vikings have drafted 22 defensive players. Only 8 remain on the roster, and none are regular starters. Either the coaches lack player development skills, or the wrong prospects are being selected.

Well duh. Let me explain to you why that is. If they're calling bad enough plays to lose, why should we suddenly think they figured it out in the wins? Coaches don't decide to call good plays one week and bad the next, they just call plays and either those plays are bad or they're good. I personally think they're bad.

I think I have made it pretty clear I believe this team has been mismanaged. A lot of that is on the head coach, most on the GM who continues to employ that head coach and whos responsibility is to build the team.

The Vikings have known they needed a new starting DE since the 2019 draft when they made sure Griffen would not be back for 2020. They have known they needed a 3Tech for that same amount of time. Yet they haven't spent more than a 3rd rounder on either of those positions since 2013, and have only spent 3 3rd rounders on a DE since then. Floyd has been out for 5 seasons now and the Vikings haven't spent anything higher than a 4th on a DT.

People talk about Rick neglecting the Oline, but the reality is the Dline has been woefully underinvested in for the past decade and we are paying the price for that right now.

Nothing hurts more than when people say things like they don't even know me. My evaluation is all over this message board, before, during, and after the fact, tyvm. How else can you be as consistently right as I am? I'm sorry your bias only notices my award winning rants, but 71.88% of my 32,000 posts contain some sort of statistical information. This one included now.

Not to mention all the research I do that doesn't show up on the stat sheet. Besides, the rants are usually pretty factual too.
