Well if we did have that defense that once claimed if you give me 17 points we win. The 25 1/2 points we average now only gets you a game under .500
To the point of the topic Kirk might be just good enough if we had the 2015-2017 defense. Sadly we sure don't. Again to the topic is Kirk the man to win you close games? Well he has but he's also only good enough to keep games close that shouldn't be as well. That is what you pay $35 million a year for?

No his play throughout the year has. I have made it a point to watch a lot of other NFL games this year to evaluate other QB play. I was surprised that I wasn't wowed by any other QB play that was any better than Kirk. Kyler Murray is the guy who has impressed me the most followed by Herbert.

Going into this game we were 15th in scoring efficiency and that would have dropped even more this week if not for the Lions gifting us 6 yesterday. Are you saying the QB playing as good as anyone outside of Murray and Herbert is somehow leading the 15th best scoring offense with a great run game, the 2nd lowest sack rate, and 2 of the best WRs in football?

PFF would agree with you there. Cousins throws a perfect 3 yard pass on 3rd and 8. No QB looks better doing it.
