What part of this is so hard for people to understand. Does Staffird win one if he stays in Detroit? No. Does Brady. Win even in Detroit? No. It’s an effing team game and unless all parts are working you ain’t winning the Super Bowl. Period. If the QB was the deciding factor alone Aaron Rodgers would have more than one. Peyton Manning would have more than two. Eli would have none.
I have said many times before, if SF doesn't trade for Jimmy G in 2017 and instead waits and takes Kirk in FA that offseason instead of Minnesota, Kirk probably wins a SB with SF in 2019. That team had a really good OL, amazing DL, good weapons, etc. Kirk would have slid in and with the good coaching they had, probably takes them just as far if not further than Jimmy. BUT Kirk came to MN and it didn't work and now we are stuck behind the 8 ball with a bad cap situation this year and next still, a lack of true high end talent on defense (outside maybe Hunter if he stays healthy), and absolutely 0 depth anywhere of note except WR and RB. That is not a good recipe for a 34 year old QB with the 3rd highest cap hit this year. Rebuilding an entire team around an aging expensive QB is a nearly impossible task. That is why so many of us are ready to move on and find our new young QB that costs 3-5m a year and lets Kwesi and KOC build this team back up and truly make it elite again like in 2017. That or if Kirk wants to sign a 4 year extension that puts his average cap hit closer to 15-20m a year that would work too!
