Elflein Junior when it comes to pass blocking straight up awful. The film don't lie he blows at pass blocking. Only way great OGs can help save him is if they do all the work for him in the passing game he is wack.

They are simply taken the wrong guys Erik McCoy should have been the guy. Younger, stronger, better. We will have a new center soon, his 5th year option won't get picked up. Put that in the prediction vault and stamp it.

BTW drank..... (not a big fan of PFF) but if those #s are even close to accurate (to the real world aka what our coaches ask of our players, not what PFF asks of them)..... then Bustbury is in the same league, slightly better perhaps but not by much, as those two..... miserable company........

Also, him being better in run game is a product of the system.... Kubiak effect.... if it wasnt for Kubiak, Bustbury wouldn't be starting this season.

I am not a huge PFF guy either, however they're pretty spot on with him. He is clearly getting knocked down and overpowered. I don't agree with them all the time, but Bustfairy it is pretty clear what it is. It is hard to dispute the numbers in this case.

I will give him the benefit of the doubt in the run game, because if it was just Kubs effect, then why is Blowzier sorry against the run? Bustfairy does okay with getting out on the move pulling and getting to the second level walling guys off on the move.

Yes Rick has the power to say no so ok on this one I will let the Rick hate slide LOL! It's not Rick though Kubs and Dennison wanted him. It is the system.. Okay in the past it works and SF does it but they obviously picking better guys then something is wrong can't quite put my finger on the whole issue.

You don't have to be the biggest to be strong low man wins in football as long as you use the right technique. We can say for a fact the system coaching been a issue. We know that because Zim said he told the scouts and Rick to find bigger stronger guys. So that tells you they been taken who Kubs and Dennison wanted and supposely fit there traits.

You don't necessarily have to be the biggest but you must be strong Sullivan, Christy, Birk, and Jason Kelce were not the biggest, but had the strength not to be pushed around. Why would a 40 time matter on the OL? They never run that far? What good is athleticism if you have no power especially on the interior? You have to be able to move people and keep guys at bay to be a OL. It's like having a CB who can tackle, but can't cover what good is it if you can't do the basic job requirement. You paid to block people first and foremost as a OL. The guy in front of you before you worry about blocking some guy on the 2nd level. Worried about 2nd level blocking when they not blocking the 1st level first is wild. LOL! In the pass blocking game you have to block the guys coming on the rush.

The dude is strong. I don't know where that narrative has come from. He is small, even for centers. He's gonna need help from powerful d-tackles, and we might finally have some guards that can do so. I think we are running in circles on this topic. Most people agree this is the make or break year for him, and most agree this should be the best surrounding guards he's had over his career.

Personally, I'd be OK with a long term above average starter. No, that's not why you draft a center in round 1. But the draft is a crapshoot and I'd take an above average starter all day long.
