This team looks more like the Wayne Fontes Detroit Lions every day with similar results. Why should we expect different?

I'm also a Knicks fan, I grew up watching those great Knicks teams of the 90s. Sure they never got it done, a lucky bounce here or there and they would have, but it never happened. People used to scream Patrick Ewing wasn't clutch enough or good enough and we needed to start over. Eventually we did... We haven't been relevant in 20 years now.

Look... We don't have Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes. And the odds of us ever getting that guy is slim to none. There isn't enough of them to go around. So you build the best team the situation allows and go knock on the door, maybe you get a lucky bounce and kick the mother f*cker down one of these years. That's the harsh reality of the current situation.

The Eagles team that won was hardly a great team they just got hot and went on a roll that lastest 1 full season.

The Rams seem to be the favorite in the NFC. Do the Rams really scare you guys? We've been kicking Stafford's ass for a decade and 6 of thier wins last year were the NFC east the Dolphins and Patriots. If they are the class of the NFC I'll roll the dice this year with this team.

Truthfully, to win it all, that line is going to have to gel a lot faster than I think it will. I think the line is in good shape for 2022, but I don't think we're going to see a top 10 line this season. I'll be thrilled if we can make it to average.

This is a good team. Can we win a Superbowl? Who knows... When have we ever. Just get to the NFC Championship game then it's 2 coin flips. The law of averages are on our side, we've lost 5 in a row.

I'm not sure getting to the NFC Championship Game is the barometer....the team was there in 2017 and had their doors blown-off (and it took a "miracle" to even get there). The team got to the Divisional Round in 2019 and got their doors blown off again...

In 1998 and 2009 the Vikings were in the NFC Championship and were legit contenders those seasons - a heartbreak away from playing in the Super Bowl...

For me personally, I need to see something out of the 2021 team that more closely resembles the 1998/2009 "contender" teams than the playoff teams we've seen in the Zimmer era. Yes, I do realize we don't have Randy Moss and Brett Favre, but that's where we need to see Zimmer step-it up and regardless of whether or not we have HOF-level talent, it's either we're contending or we're satisfied with a playoff appearance every-other-season....

It's time to stop talkin' bout the labor....and start showin' us the "baby"....

I think Vikings' management/ownership were inspired by the Bucs' win last year, and the tight salary cap created a great opportunity to bring in strong veteran reinforcement.

My doubts are around Zimmer and his staff. Without even debating if he is a "good coach" overall, this is not the approach where he has demonstrated previous success. His great 2017 defense was built from a group of players that had been together multiple years, some of them since they entered the NFL, knew Zimmer's system, and were in their prime. It helps that some (Alexander, Richardson, Weatherly) are returning, but he still needs to mold a lot of new pieces quickly and avoid a poor start.

Rick already proved himself. Now its time for his counterparts to do the same...

Every GM is getting value this offseason because of the salary cap. That isn't unique to Rick. Sure some guys want to come play for Zimmer and might choose us over another team, but I am not sure how that is on Rick.

Rick will have proven himself if the team is proven to have more talent than just about any team in the NFL. Which no one in their right mind would argue he has at this point. Right now we are improved over last season where the team was below .500 and was completely devoid of talent on the defense. Talent he is supposed to provide via free agency and the draft.
