To be fair all these guys were projected in the area that they were drafted so to say we reached on them isnt true at all. I think the bigger issue is us taking so many first round CBs over the years. Im okay with the Waynes pick he was solid for us and was a major need at the time. Hughes hasnt panned out obviously injuries hasnt helped but still mark it as a bust and I strongly disagreed with taking a CB there anyway. Mac was a second round pick and again I would say solid in my book. Gladney story is far from over although this arrest may end it but that has more to do with unlucky than bad pick. Overall the draft is mostly a crap shoot anyway but to put the resources we did at the position and the end result I see the frustration and it is warranted. But then here we are in 2021 and it looks like things should be turned around for a year at least lol
Waynes I don't know what y'all seeing he was not to good. I do like Mack and glad he is back, but he is just a solid slot CB. He is solid, but nothing special. I don't think he is like a top slot CB in the league. Around the middle and he struggled with us until his last year. So in his first 3 years he was a disappointment then had a solid last year. Good thing Mack is back so he can give us more solid play like his last year with us making him a better pick. Right now I wanted and expected more from him when we drafted him.
Gladney like I said I wasn't over the hills when we drafted him. He can be okay, but doesn't have the tool kit to ever be a elite CB IMO and that was before the incident.
Now Cam he has the chops to be a top 10 CB.. But will he see the field this year? Breeland may block the break out I was expecting from Dantzler this year.
