And that was on 3rd down so he had 2 downs to get off the 1 yard line. And what about the other 7 drives?

How many times do I have to debunk the same things over and over lol? There's a huge difference between mobile QB and "dual threat". The clue is with the word "threat". Just because a QB can scramble, doesn't mean he's a "threat" throwing or running. I would love to have a dual threat QB, but lets not get it confused with mobility. For example. Lamar Jackson wasn't a dual threat his rookie year. He was a single threat because he couldn't throw. Somewhere between his 1st and 2nd year he learned how to throw and became a dual threat.

Trubisky isn't a dual threat because his arm isn't a threat. I wouldn't even consider Mahomes, Rodgers, or Wilson to be dual threats either because are they really threats in the run game? Just because a guy can escape the pocket and buy time, doesn't mean he's a threat to run.

Has anyone considered that maybe the quality of offensive linemen are declining because college football has too many mobile QB's now? College football and the NFL are almost 2 completely different games at this point. It's why these "expert" teams miss so often on so many players. If you're an offensive lineman, do you want to block for a QB who you know is going to stay in the pocket, or for one who you're not going to know where he is at any given moment? If you ask offensive linemen, most will want to block for a pocket QB.

And again, I don't know why everyone thinks a mobile or dual threat QB is the best thing to have when your OL sucks because the stats are pretty conclusive, mobile QB's get sacked a lot more often than statue QB's. Probably because mobile QB's run themselves into sacks. It gets back to my point above, it's hard for the OL to block for your QB when they don't know where he's going to be. I've debunked that narrative several times. Also also, it's difficult to research, but I'm willing to bet mobile QB's lead to more offensive line injuries. You're asking them to block longer, they have to change direction more often, and they have to constantly keep their head on a swivel.

Pocket QB's are generally the better passers because they can't rely on their legs, so it's either learn how to throw and get rid of the ball quickly, or you're not going to last long. IMO mobile QB's rely just a bit too much on their legs. In fact I think their legs are distractions because when they drop back to pass, their finger is always on the panic button. Meaning they're always looking for an escape route out of the corner of their eye, instead of focusing 100% downfield on their receivers like a pocket QB. I do that when I play Madden with a mobile QB. If I feel some pressure I take my eyes off my receivers and start watching the line more, looking for an avenue to escape. You can't help it. It works if I find the avenue that can buy me more time, but I've also run right into some sacks thinking I can beat an edge rusher around the corner. I don't do any of that when I play with a statue. I stay in the pocket and keep scanning the field because I know scrambling isn't an option. I have to throw it or I'm getting sacked.

Cousins problem isn't his lack of mobility, it's his lack of an internal clock and a lack of pocket awareness. He has zero sense of what's going on around him and he tends to panic because of it. You can see when he's starting to hear footsteps. Rodgers isn't anymore mobile than Cousins, he just has superior pocket and spatial awareness. Cousins is the type of QB who needs a top tier pass blocking line. In other words, he's not worth what we paid him. If we could take a chunk of his salary and invest it in a better line, we'd be a lot better off. But once again, Spielman and company neglected the OL and here we are, it's only week 2 and we're already thinking about 2021 xD.

And are "dual threat" QB's changing the game? I don't even know what that means lol. 8 of the past 10 Super Bowl QB's were pocket passers. Newton and Mahomes the only 2 who could even be considered "dual threats" but you could argue they're also pocket passers who are just better at escaping the pocket/buying time. If you go a little further back you got Wilson and Rodgers who won bowls, and that's it. It's nothing but pocket passers who have won Super Bowls otherwise.
