The opposite is true too, an offense should be helped by a defense that can get off the field quickly by sheer volume alone. They would have more opportunities to score in a game. Football isn't like baseball where a team gets 9 opportunities no matter what. In football you could have as many as 20 drives in a game, or as few as 8 depending on how long those drives are on both sides of the ball.
