Alright, few things Mr. Strawman ...

That's not the argument. We're not playing "what if" about a future none of us know about. We're playing here and now with what we do know. You play "what if" 3 years after a draft, after you have the information you can't possibly have now. How can you possibly draft guys on "what if" scenarios? Any guy could be a bust and any could be a hidden gem.

Unless Rodgers and Jones both go down early with major injuries, they absolutely did NOT improve the team for 2020 because those players will be sitting on the bench. At best you can say they maybe improved the bench, but when you're 1 game from the Super Bowl and have a few glaring holes in the starting department, one would think filling those holes would be the priority. That's why they're being criticized, so what about that don't you understand? They didn't even address them in free agency. Nobody cares about any of these other "what if" scenarios. 3 years from now we might look back at them and say they had the best draft ever in 2020. Right now that doesn't matter. We can't have 3 years from now arguments right now lol. That makes no sense.

This is what we call a non sequitur kids. Even if Rick had the worst draft ever in 2019 or 2020 or whenever, how does that change how good or bad the Packers draft was? You're like a logical fallacy factory.

Here's the point. Did Rick try and improve positions of need in 2019? Yes or no? It's not, did rick improve the team in 2019. Did the Packers try to improve positions of need in 2020? Was their bench a position of need? Is that what prevented them from beating the 49ers? Was it their backup QB that gave up 186 yards rushing before contact? Was it their backup RB who wasn't getting open downfield?

When their star QB asked for weapons on offense I'm sure he wasn't expecting them to draft his replacement instead. Are you overlooking that angle? They pretty much pissed off their field general and created a huge distraction. You don't think reporters aren't going to nag him and teammates all year about it? You don't think it's going to bother him? Why would you do that to your starting QB when you're just a few pieces away from a Super Bowl?

And how's it going to affect Love? The fans are going to hate him, and he might have to sit for awhile before he gets to play. And how much pressure is he going to have when he does get to play? This is the guy who chased Aaron out the door, he better play well and right away. He's going to be under a microscope, as is Erin will be this entire year. Everyone is going to be watching how he handles this situation and he knows it. Everyone already thinks he's an asshole and his own team put him in a no win situation.

So this draft by the Packers was dumb on so many levels. Jones will probably be going through the same thing. Good luck to little boy LaFleur if the Packers passing game struggles or the defense can't stop the run.

Media pundits love instant gratification and filling perceived needs, but do you really think that is how a draft works? When GB traded for Favre nearly every Packer fan and the media were scratching their heads at why GB just gave up a 1st for some goof from the Falcons who's only pass was a pick six.

No, its not an objective fact. At all. Maybe for Love, but the RB they drafted will certainly be a 1-2 punch with Jones. RBs are more important than WRs in that O, they use two RB sets constantly, Dillon is a very big, fast dude who can block and catch, he is definitely a Lafluer pick, but he certainly isnt going to be on the bench.

You do realize a first round pick who isnt a bust, still typically doesnt make immediate contributions anyway, right? Using a single 1st round pick on a QB isnt 'rebuilding' lol. It's one pick. A high one sure, but still just one pick. GB will still likely compete this year.

The next Manning? Well jee, how about the next Rodgers (who also was drafted to wait behind an HOFer)? How about the next Favre (who was also a raw upside guy with alot of arm talent)?

If GB falls short again, there still may not be anything to guarentee they wouldnt have, had they used their first on a WR. Would it better to have gone for immediate gratification, fallen short anyway, and have passed up on a franchise QB? If Love works out, big if, but if he does, this whole conversation is nonsense. Even if, for the sake of discussion, we assume GB gave up a SB win by not using their draft picks differently, it STILL will have been worth it for them if Love works out.

That's a thought... the Packers could have sent their 1st to Houston for Hopkins + a bit more back, and then perhaps wait to take their developmental QB later (like Eason in the 3rd round, who by the way I think is a better prospect than Love!). I would be very afraid to face the Packers with Adams & Hopkins at Rodgers' disposal, plus a future QB in the wings just in case.
