We’re up to 60 mocks this week, folks, with half either being added or updated since last week’s update. Some of these mocks even project out to the Vikings’ newly-acquired Compensatory Pick at #105 overall. So, with that, here are the mocks that make up our Database for this week.
...
We’ve gotten some new additions again this week, and that means we’re now up to 27 different players that have been mocked to the Vikings at #25, and we’ve only been doing this for four weeks (counting the pre-Combine version). What does the Database have in store for us this week? Let’s take a look!
Defensive Backs - 43/60 selections (71.7%, up from 68% last week)
Trevon Diggs, Alabama - 9 selections (15%, up from 12%)
Kristian Fulton, Louisiana State - 9 selections (15%, up from 12%)
Jeff Gladney, Texas Christian - 5 selections (8.33%, down from 12%)
A.J. Terrell, Clemson - 5 selections (8.33%, up from 4%)
C.J. Henderson, Florida - 4 selections (6.67%, down from 8%)
Cameron Dantzler, Mississippi State - 3 selections (5%, up from 4%)
Bryce Hall, Virginia - 2 selections (3.33%, down from 4%)
Jaylon Johnson, Utah - 2 selections (3.33%, down from 4%)
Grant Delpit, Louisiana State - 1 selection (1.67%, down from 4%)
Noah Igbinoghene, Auburn - 1 selection (1.67%, down from 2%)
Xavier McKinney, Alabama - 1 selection (1.67%, RETURN this week)
Antoine Winfield Jr., Minnesota - 1 selection (1.67%, down from 2%)
We still have a tie at the top of the leaderboard, as we did last week, but now it’s merely a two-way tie rather than a three-way tie. No new names among the defensive backs this week, though Xavier McKinney makes his return after dropping out for a week. I have a feeling this category is going to continue to dominate, much like we’ve seen with the offensive linemen in the previous couple of seasons.
Defensive Linemen - 10/60 selections (16.67%, up from 16% last week)
Ross Blacklock, Texas Christian - 4 selections (6.67%, up from 6%)
Neville Gallimore, Oklahoma - 2 selections (3.33%, down from 4%)
A.J. Epenesa, Iowa - 1 selection (1.67%, NEW this week)
Yetur Gross-Matos, Penn State - 1 selection (1.67%, NEW this week)
Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina - 1 selection (1.67%, down from 2%)
Terrell Lewis, Alabama - 1 selection (1.67%, down from 2%)
A couple of B1G defensive ends make their debuts this week, as Epenesa and Gross-Matos make their first appearances. Gallimore’s stock seems to be a bit all over the place, as he’s one of the few players that appears in both Round 1 and Round 2 of our Database. I’m not entirely sure what to make of him yet, and apparently the scouts aren’t, either. Also, we say goodbye to Texas A&M tackle Justin Madubuike, who dropped out of this week’s Database.
Offensive Linemen - 6/60 selections (10%, down from 14% last week)
Austin Jackson, Southern Cal - 2 selections (3.3%, down from 4%)
Josh Jones, Houston - 2 selections (3.3%, down from 8%)
Cesar Ruiz, Michigan - 1 selection (1.67%, down from 2%)
Alex Taylor, South Carolina State - 1 selection (1.67%, NEW this week)
Offensive linemen continue to lose territory on our board as other positions appear to become more of a need for the purple. I’m curious as to why Pete Prisco put Alex Taylor in this spot this week, because everything I’ve read about Alex Taylor seems to imply that he’s a bit of a project. Not sure if he’s someone you’d use #25 on, but he’s there, so we include him.
Wide receivers - 1/60 selections (1.67%, down from 2% last week)
Jalen Reagor - 1 selection (1.67%, down from 2%)
Yep. . .still holding it down. I’m guessing he’s going to disappear eventually, but as of now he’s still in.
Let’s get to our graphics for this week, as the donut graph for this week shows the pretty crazy number of players that appear in this week’s Database. Of the 27 players in the Database to this point, 23 of them are represented by this week’s chart.
