That's something I haven't been called before!

I see you're pulling a lot of similarities to my plan, especially with signing Fuller. And I'll say... if you could get that many draft picks that high for the upcoming draft, I'd be down for moving Diggs & Cook. I mean, the offense will be sure to regress without them and only having a 3rd rounder plugged in at guard and a 4th round WR to replace Diggs. Oh, and Peart at LT... that's gonna be a tough sell.

But I like what you've done with the defense, especially with Kinlaw, Gladney, and Fuller. The defense would certainly be the stronger unit here.

There are a couple guys I would be able to take at around that price. Hell, if Waynes came at a similar price to Fuller I'm good with that too. For me, it's putting those two big boys in the middle that could game change the defense. Davis is a freak of nature at holding the point of attack and Kinlaw is savage. Those two are a nightmare pairing IMO. Plus, I should also note, my depth chart would allow the Vikings to use Barr at DE in pass rushing situations as a rotational player.

I do think the offense could regress and, to be honest, this is a plan that is aimed at a 2021 surge. Cousins will come off the books, his replacement will be groomed and ready, we'll have 30M to add whatever is left to the team, and another draft full of picks to supplement. I've said I'm not in the rebuild camp and this is my proof - this is an on the fly retool that could promise a 2021-2024 window of excellence.

One more thing - I think Tyler Johnson is a polished, pro-ready receiver. He's not Diggs, but he can plug and play IMO. And Peart is the ideal zone scheme tackle. He may necessitate a shift by O'Neill to LT and he takes over RT, but he's big, mobile, and blocks well in space. Biasdasz is this year's Erik McCoy - he's tough, physical, sound, plug and play stud.

Even if we hit the draft out of the park, you are still looking at another yr or two.
And those you wanting to draft Hurts are begging for disappointment. The running qb is not the answer.

That might hurt the offense a bit. Key word might.

Two DTs could solidify that interior sooner than later. Bold picks, but good picks IMO.

I would draft Xavier McKinney with the 25th and let Anthony Harris sign elsewhere. Use the money in free agency for LG Joe Thuney. A veteran LG who can pass block and help your guy Peart!!!

In the open markets, there's a concept called the "bid-ask" spread. It's somewhat universal. The basic rule is that in a market that is not liquid, there will typically be a large spread between the highest offer to buy (the "bid) and the lowest offer to sell (the "ask"). NFL trades are NOT a liquid market. That means that we can't "force" a trade at market rates unless somebody else (the bidder) is more desperate than us (the seller) to close the deal. With all this talk about Diggs, Cook, etc., I just haven't seen who those desperate bidders are. GMs who act desperate are typically at the end of the rope and don't last long. More typically, the sellers accept the "bids" and sell at a large loss. I don't want to "sell" Cook or Diggs at a large loss.

Hey what are you doin' here lol.

I posted the idea a while back to trade Diggs to the Giants for their 2021 1st. It's likely they would and likely to be top 5 which might be turned into #1 if trader Rick can stop obsessing over the 7th round of the draft for one moment.

But trade Diggs has turned to internet static noise and honestly it's clear the org has no stomach for risk. The last time they risked any real capital on personnel was Jared Allen as far as I can recall (but feel free to correct me cuz my memory ain't what it once was!)

They would rather go into year seven of Zimmer while continuing to pretend his obvious ceiling of getting outgunned in nearly every big/meaningful game doesn't exist and the overpriced Zimmer pets on D must be held on to.

Ownership doesn't put on the thinking cap cuz it hurts, then one might have to make a tough decision or take a chance. Instead the purple corporate committee just figures more years of Rick/Zim will somehow magically work out.
They are down in the locker room after wins jumping around like school kids and scratching their heads after tough losses. I don't see bold or dynamic moves to succeed coming from them any time soon.

Big takeaway:

Even after cutting 3 aging vets, trading both Cook and Digga, and restructures for both Smith and Kendricks...... we still only had enough $ (after re-signing our own FAs) to sign Corey Coleman and Kendall Fuller.

Now you could argue that trading both of them (if even one) will not happen, so one of them will end up having a cap hit too.....

So point being..... too many on here are unrealistic about our ability to be a player in this year's free agency. Now that I've seen you lay out the #s, it makes me believe even more strongly that's the case....
