Reiff has been pretty average, so I guess the question there is whether or not he's going to age in that capacity. For me, keeping him depends on what they think of Hill and Udoh. If one of those guys can take over a tackle role and the other shows well enough to be counted on as a backup, I think you save the money and draft a project tackle. That doesn't solve guard though...

I guess people think there's room, so who do they target in FA? With Griff gone, they'll need a DE. They desperately need a DT. One of those could be solved by a high pick, but not both. Too many other needs such as QB and CB.

I guess my question to you is....isnt average tackle play worth keeping? You're right about the projects and if Udoh is ready to do what O'Neill did then sign me up. But O-Line is not a place I want to take too many risks either.

I do know that if you cut x,y,z you are not getting same number of players who would be considered upgrades by many, most on this board.

if they cut rhodes, he will not be available longh enough to be brought back imo.

AR and this db group? I am not sure how mentally tough this team is. I think we have more talent, but does, has not played out that way.

Shoring up the weakest link and dialing up the pressure would be a good start.

Yeah, I can agree that would be ideal. My thought was if you can get him to restructure you save money next year and structure it such that there is no dead money 2021 and forward. But if he wont agree then cutting him probably is best.

You're right, I glanced at his dead cap and saw the 17M and wrongly thought that was the price for next year. Under a restructure vs. cutting him you're probably getting about the same savings. So, yeah, I'd rather just cut him as well.

At this point it's just sad to see how far he's fallen.

I won't argue that... Will he be average next year or does regression finally kick in? That's a lot to wager, especially if it means not upgrading elsewhere.

I think the problem is the cost... 13M, right? I'd hope that Hill/Udoh can step up making it a non issue. How has hill looked in Reiff's absence? That probably answers my question.
