You can close a game without quitting.
I need a little clarification here. What exactly was your takeaway from this 4th quarter? The team quit on Zimmer? Zimmer quit on the team because Stefanski's play-calling was too conservative? Perhaps there were a few issues with execution on the field late but I have no idea why you feel this was an effort issue.
Zim pretty much told all of us and his team that he has no confidence in them.
Ok I don't agree with this for a second. For one thing, Zimmer doesn't call the offensive plays. Sure, he probably talks to the offensive coaches during the week of preparation leading up to the game. And Zimmer was reasonably aggressive in this game and blitzed a fair amount. It would have been nice to keep the D off the field a little more late but I disagree that a prevent D late in a blowout win indicates lack of confidence in the players.
Why does everyone assume I wanted the Vikings to play like the score was tied or to run up the score lol?
I wasn't assuming this at all, good sir. Only providing my 2 cents on the 4th quarter.
