Some of it was, take some of the starters out, don't risk injuries. I am OK with that.
More concerned with the offsides, Rodgers is a master of the hard count, and could get many free plays if not corrected.
Thats the problem, people are OK with it. Its the definition of playing scared. Scared of mistakes. Scared of injuries. Scared of ourselves.
I didn't see the game but It sounded like we had some improvements in running the ball and special teams, which are positive take aways.
Playing scared is running a draw in the second quarter on a 3rd and 12. Totally worth criticism.
Running Dalvin Cook in the fourth quarter of a game already decided is reckless and stupid. Lumping everything cautious as "playing scared" is disingenuous. Did you want fleaflickers in the 4th? Should we line Kirk Cousins up in the backfield and run him as the tailback? At what point is something pointless and reckless no longer "playing scared" and just "doing something unnecessarily stupid"?
I'm guessing you think those last two, purposefully hyperbolic, examples are stupid. I doubt you'd label them "playing scared". So maybe let's not be so loose with that term. The Vikings weren't "scared" of anything. They just opted not to take pointless risks. That's not scared. That's prudent.
