The Vikings will face the Aaron Rodgers-less Packers this weekend and they're favored to win by 9 at Lambeau... is there anybody good left on this roster?
Injury Reports
The Packers have some talent on this team with some young, ascending players, but there are plenty of declining and disappointing players too. Without Rodgers, this is just an average team. On offense, Martellus Bennett was released with an "injury" (still not sure what happened) so they don't have much at TE. Jordy Nelson has begun to decline at age 32 and he has little to no chemistry with Hundley. With Adams, their best WR, out with a concussion, they'll surely have trouble throwing the ball. Jamaal Williams will get most the carries even though Aaron Jones has been the better HB thus far.
Brett Hundley's Average rating might surprise you, but that's because PFF ranks him as the league's best scrambling QB - an Elite rating, no less. He's just a below average passer, though, so he's not that dangerous when contained. He does have the league's best tackle in David Bakhtiari, but the rest of the group is middling. Second rounder Jason Spriggs has struggled big time and it might be time for Danielle Hunter to have a multi sack game.
On defense, the Packers have relied on their front seven to stop the run, and it's worked well. Kenny Clark is having a phenomenal sophomore season and combined with Mike Daniels, it'll be really difficult running the ball. The good news is that their pass rushing OLBs, Matthews and Perry, didn't get any practice in and will probably miss this game. That'd leave Ahmad Brooks and Kyler Fackrell as the pass rushers, which would be good news for our O-line.
The Packers secondary has been giving them trouble all year long. Damarious Randall is coming off a great game where he shut down Devin Funchess (a WR who gave the Vikings fits) but the rest of the group is questionable. Davon House has been terrible but he might not play, so someone named Josh Hawkins might have to start again. Morgan Burnett has mostly played nickel CB this season, so he might be placed on Thielen. Safeties Clinton-Dix and Jones haven't been that great.
Any thoughts? And where should the Packers go from here - should they fire the coaches and/or GM and start spending big in free agency?
