I'm more a fan of putting together a clear SB contender and having an expectation that they compete. We already had our 3 games where the defense and offense were clicking, but the offense stopped clicking in the 2nd half of the Packers game and the defense remains legit.
If you wanted the win streak with clicking on both sides, we already had it.
It is year 3 with KO. He's proven he can't run a consistent offense. IMO he's the weak link here. It isn't the QB. Cousins didn't take enough chances and Darnold takes too many. The common theme is that KO calls dumb plays like passing on 3rd and short, eschewing field goals for 4th down tries, still hasn't developed a consistent run game... he's just not consistent. I dont expect that to change. It's been 3 years now.
I agree with your assessment on KOC.
But I don't agree that Darnold takes too many chances.
That's Nick Mullens.
Darnold only does what KOC asks him to do.
It's on KOC this week to dial-it-back a bit and focus on moving the chains (via Short/Intermediate passes and/or running game) and getting into the Redzone-scoring area instead of just YOLO'ing the deep ball every passing down.
