QB of the future?

Let me help you out. If Sam has a great season, I'm tagging him and NOT trading him. At least one other poster has indicated that our JJ plan is so great and set in stone that what I just outlined is out of the question. He's a guy who is always right and calls those with dissenting opinions childish names.

It's because we don't know how the season is going to play out. I shouldn't have to remind anybody of that. I see a continuum of outcomes, while others are blinded by the JJ plan of all plans. That's okay. They're entitled to their opinions. Isn't everybody?

He’s doing a damn good job. I haven’t always felt that but this free agent class is bananas. The type of art that makes past mistakes little small atoms. I’m surprised Kwesi hasn’t shown his face lately. We know he’s cheesing showing teeth gums and all.

Off your other post yeah, how you approach people is key on here. No matter if you agree or not approach is very important at least how I perceive a person. As we know arguments happen. I look at it as brotherly love unless it’s someone you never can have a good conversation with. If that’s the case why interact lol

You can have that opinion but are other allowed to have their own in your world? If so, why have you been responding as you have? 

That isn't even the poster I was referencing that you responded to either. Again you are so set in your belief that we should tag and not trade you questioned another poster on if anyone would even want to trade for him. That's different than just opinions, what you have is an extreme double standard. You try to force others to believe Darnold will be a top 5 level QB that we have to keep while refusing to believe anyone would trade for him. It makes no logical sense. 

I see a continuum of outcomes too but very few end up with Darnold ending up as a top 5 QB we need to keep which is what you and others have been questioning and pushing. To deny the idea of others wanting to trade for him etc. makes no sense just to also demand that we keep Darnold because he is so good. This is truly the Cousins extremism all over again that you were also a part of.

We need to be logical about our next steps and the most likely way to reach the SB. If Darnold shows he is truly an outlier and top 5 level QB, keep him. Otherwise you move on and build up this roster around JJ and his rookie contract. If Darnold plays good and ends up top 5ish MVP and teams will want him tag and trade. If not you just let him walk because duh no one else even wants him that much. Don't pay up unless you are convinced of that top 5 range. Thats been the point all along and still needs to be proven before others are likely to jump on the keep darnold bandwagon like you seem to want.

FTR he balled got 500 la la la. It’s the same movie nothing but a rerun we seen this before. Thursday was his Super Bowl. Kirktober becomes November blizzard’s. Expect that like clock work.

He didn’t build his 300 million deceiving empire like that. He has to reel his fan club in before the storm. You like that!

Imo one of the worst things you can do is try and chase success from a previous year or hope to duplicate the positive results from the year before. Doing either can cause you to make drastic franchise altering decisions. From 2014-2017 the combo of Rick and Zim were in lockstep and built a championship caliber team. Instead of building off of what made them successful they panicked and overplayed for Kirk after losing in the NFCCG. Another example was 2019. After two uneven years with Kirk they rallied and won a playoff game only to get blown out on the road vs the 49ers. Instead of being wise and looking at the long term future of the organization ownership doubled down by extending Rick Zim and Kirk and delayed any possibility of properly rebuilding the team in the short term. With all that said we could enter a similar crossroad this offseason. There's a plan that's clearly in place and imo doing something to drastically deviate from that could have similar negative effects.

Yeah, this makes a whole lotta sense. There apparently is a very fine line between expressing a contrarian opinion (or, perhaps any opinion) and being an asshole who is insulting the ones who know everything. Revelation: not everybody who disagrees with you is an asshole. You must be great fun at parties.
