I disagree. They could replace him but choose not to for the time being. They replaced Ezra Cleveland and will hopefully replace Ingram in the near future. Apparently that time is not now.
Brandel is working out nicely.
I'm confused. They didn't replace him going into Year 3 because that's typically when guys start to figure it out. He clearly hasn't so far. The reason he hasn't been benched yet is that Risner is hurt. Ezra Cleveland made it known he wanted to play Tackle and wanted a big extension. Literally apples to oranges.
Brandel working out as a 6th Round Left Tackle who was a Swing Tackle until getting Guard reps last year is an indictment on Ed. Kuper was able to mold a guy that didn't profile as an OG into an above average player so far. The fact that he can't do that with Ingram is further proof that the guy is irredeemable.
Ezra Cleveland was an average guard at best who was going to be a FA this season. Whether Ezra Cleveland wanted to play tackle or not the Vikings obviously didn't want him. Ha, he is still a guard for the Jaguars. Kwesi and Co were smart to trade him for a 2024 6th (Walter Rouse) and move on. I know it's early but it looks like Brandel is the right move.
