It's interesting isn't it,and one big change Oakland made was to get rid of Musgrave as OC.I couldn't understand why they would breakup a winning combination.

The reason why they let Musgrave go was because they considered their QBs coach Todd Downing to be an up-and-coming coach they'd lose to another team, so they promoted him. Perhaps they thought Downing had more to do with Carr's success than Musgrave?

By the way, Musgrave is now the Broncos' OC since they fired their old one a few weeks ago. Have fun coaching Siemian/Lynch/Osweiler!

I'd hate to lose Pat as an OC, but I'm not worried about him being a HC for Detroit. Some people were just meant to be coordinators and I think Pat is one of them. He was the Browns HC from 2011-2012 and went 9-23. It's the Browns though, so take that with a grain of salt. Same with Patricia. Patriot coordinators never pan out as head coaches. Weis, Crennel, Mangini, McDaniels, O'Brien. None of them took their success to other teams.

The Cardinals have also put in an interview request for Shurmur.Add the Bears to the list also.

Shurmur does some things well, like working with what he has for personnel rather than trying to hammer the players into a system, but he isn't the offensive guru he is being portrayed to be by the NFL talking heads.

My worry is that he leaves for another team and is replaced by someone worse and that any system change will cause a disruption to the quarterback position.

Shurmer apparently has 4 interviews this week. As much as I didn't think it would happen and hoped that he would be here for another year, I have to think he's gone. He may not be the hot coaching prospect as designated by the media, but 4 interviews says otherwise.

It'll be interesting to see if Shurmur will take one of our QBs with him. The other day I was talking about Bradford retiring vs. ending up in a good situation. What if Shurmur landed somewhere like Arizona? Wouldn't that be intriguing for Bradford ... or even Bridgewater?

I don't think any of our QBs would be more loyal to Shurmur than they would be to the Vikings organization. I just don't see any of our QBs going with Shurmur just to be with him on a sh*tty team, when they could stay and be with a good team instead. Anything could happen I just don't see it as likely. And I think Shurmur will stay another year but that may be wishful thinking.

A number of other people have postulated the same twin Coordinator-QB departure to the same destination. I just don't think its that likely, although its clearly a possibility. The one he'd be mostly to want is Keenum, then Bradford (if healthy, which he and we probably wont even find out this year unless Case blows buckets in the playoffs and Sam goes in).
