It Is Worse Than You Think

That was my argument the whole time. People are acting like it’s time to turn the page of jj already and that he is a bust. So ridiculous. Yes the situation sucks. But he is still going to be in the building learning more in depth of the playbook, will still be able to practice with the team when his leg is more healed in a couple months. Still be in film room with the coaches. Yeah it would have been nice to have him play a few weeeks to get his feet wet, but from the start when we drafted him koc was pretty straightforward on how they were going to handle his development and making sure he was developed the right way. He most likely wasn’t going to get a lot of playing time this year anyways. Now he is red shirted and can learn like mahomes, love, Rodgers, etc did. It’s not the worst thing in the world. KOC comments about McCarthy recently lead me to believe we have the right guy at qb finally. I’m still cautious as we have to see it over a long term to believe (at least i do) but I am very optimistic he is the guy.

1. Already gone through rookie mini camp
2. Already gone through OTAS and minicamps
3. Already gone through most of training camp


When next offseason starts he will be healthy, 22 and all the experience he gained from his rookie year. Yes he will have missed on the field action and that sucks but I'm willing to bet he will make the absolute best of his time on the sidelines

Literally nobody is saying he is a bust. Good grief.

If you don’t understand the difference between having a rookie season taking snaps and practicing vs sitting on the shelf rehabbing then there is no conversation to have. If you don’t understand how the time lost this year will put him at a disadvantage compared to his peers who get a full year of development then we will need to agree to disagree.

Yes they have. I recall someone saying to draft another QB next year early snd we have 3 picks. That would categorize as giving up and saying this makes him a bust. It has been applied that way all over this thread.
