Vikings beat reporters are paid to write mostly positive stories about all the Vikings players, coaches, and franchise. Last preseason when the Packers had a joint practice with the Bengals, the Bengals beat reporters made it seem like the Packers were getting destroyed by the Bengals all practice. And mostly just WOW stuff about how nearly every Bengals player was performing. You would think they were all Hall Of Famers. And of course the Packers reporters had mostly positive things to say about the Packers. Though cats like Rob Demovsky, who is from Chicago, tends to throw in some not so favorable narratives.

Just take what any teams beat reporters say with a grain of salt.

And yes, it is commonly known all around the league that J-Love and Justin Herbert are two of the current QBs that have incredible arm strength.

I've seen the facts with my own eyes live, and countless others with more knowledge and experience than you or I, say the same. I don't need to defend Jordan Love to you. Now, I am way over discussing this ad nauseam with you or any other Barney. I tried to dignify you & respond, but that has ended. If you are still hurt over me saying Darnold and McCarthy don't have cannons, then I can't help you.

Yeah, anyone trying to spin any of Darnold's career to the positive is just a fan that will say any player on their fav teams roster is great.

Again, if Sam Darnold is named the starter for the Vikings, the Vikings will have the worst starting QB in the NFL.

Ball Security needs to be a priority here.

Too much talent on this team for him to be the worst. You have to remember that QBs like Jones, Minshew, Brissett, Wilson, Wilson/Nix, and Watson exist and are playing with significantly less talent on offense. The Vikings have top 5 at WR, TE, OT, and a top 10 RB and those guys should be able to elevate his play above those guys at least. Not that that is saying much.

Mike Evans (not Lee Evans, excuse me) getting behind the defense time and time again for a score played a big role in the loss.

And I forgot about the 3 and outs but at the same time, look at who he had to throw to out there aside from DJ Moore.

It's amazing he even got them to the point where they had a shot of getting to the playoffs.

That's why I'm more confident he will be even better with this current level of talent here in Minny.

Daniel Jones is a better QB than Sam Darnold. Aidan O'Connell will be the starter in Vegas, but even if Minshew starts, I'd rate him higher than Darnold. If Brissett starts over Maye, I take him all day long over Darnold. The rooks like Maye, Nix, Caleb, Daniels and McCarthy, if he beats out Darnold, I give the benefit of the doubt. Darnold has shown nothing in his career to say he is even a serviceable starting QB, and gets no benefit of doubt. All I was saying was that if Sam Darnold is named the starter, he will be the worst starting QB in the NFL. You are free to disagree. I never said he is the QB in the worst situation in the NFL if he is the starter.

I know you are on the start McCarthy week 1 train, I feel that is the right play. It's made more right by having no quality QB on the roster other than JJ. As I have said before here, I would be fine with McCarthy sitting and developing behind a high quality QB. But I would not be fine with him sitting behind a clown like Darnold. If I was a Vikings fan, I would not want Darnold within 500 feet of McCarthy ever.
