Jor-El, I've thought about Darrisaw but I'd still need to find a way to get another 1st in this year's Draft so I can take advantage of one of the best OT Classes in recent memory. That's the only way I jeopardize one of the few positions of strength on the Team.
Can you get an OT at 42? As you said, it's a great OT class and maybe the 2nd tier is as good as the first in other years. Darrisaw was picked at 23 in a class that wasn't as good as this one (after Penei Sewell). Believe me, I hate to lose LT because it has been a bad spot for this team since...Gary Zimmerman?? OK Todd Steussie was solid. That said, he is still a bit of a question mark who has some suspect moments and misses time every year. This regime hasn't been happy about most of Spielman's picks, they may not love Darrisaw - or love him enough to be signing him to a new deal next year.
Above all, I just don't think you can start a rebuild - which is what we would be doing, no question about it if we let Cousins walk and trade up for a QB - without decent draft picks for the first few years of that QB's career. It comes down to gutting three drafts or giving up Darrisaw. I think the Darrisaw trade is easier to swallow.
Maybe that trade works with Washington now and we can get Maye. IMO that justifies a Darrisaw trade even more.
