The Vikings have now played 8 full seasons at US Bank Stadium.
Most stadiums have a life of about 30 years.
We are essentially through the first 25% of it's useful lifespan if it lasts 32 years.
A stadiums life goes through the first third has happy, look at this new shiny object we built.
To 5-10 years of "improvements". Repair roof. New Turf. New Scoreboards.
We then proceed to the last 40-50% of it's lifespan which quickly falls into "Talk about a new stadium need" as they let the current stadium fall into a lesser state of repairs and or major pushes for public financing to extend the life for another 7-10 years.
In any regard, we have maybe another 8 years until we start hearing how we need to fund the stadium more.
With that said, in the 8 years, the Vikings have accumulated a total of 41 home wins in those 8 seasons. (Not counting preseason games).
They have hosted 2 playoff games, and of course, we have the Minneapolis Miracle which was the lone playoff win in 8 years.
For the $1,000,000,000 spent on the stadium we have gotten 42 wins.
Take the $1 billion and divide it by 32 years (assuming no public financed repairs) per year it's $31+ million a year.
In 8 years we've spent about $250,000,000.00 for the stadiums use so far.
Divide that by the 42 wins, and we've paid just shy of $6 million per win.
Are there any other stadiums built that have been more expensive per win?
