We suck. Our recipe for success is the worst in the North.

But I also feel some concern about having him influence drafting extensively. A "specialized/unique" scheme can emphasize over-specialized players. Flores reportedly wanted both Mekhi Blackmon and Jay Ward, and Blackmon was pretty good but Ward not as much. It's good Flores is staying because that means his picks will play in his system. I was more concerned when it looked like he might be one year and gone. Maybe Ward will prove to be stronger in his 2nd year.
It likely means that Ward is going to be more depth/situational going forward. That's not a bad thing. Blackmon hopefully continues to develop, but even with that, I think he'd benefit from DL improvement and another CB. I like the idea though of him having a couple of specialists. Obviously he cannot have too many, but if he has a few of those tools to use in the right situation, that can be beneficial, especially if we get to the point where we have a DL that can consistently get pressure and he's not nearly as reliant on the blitz to do it.
Right now, the Vikes have either 25 or 30 mil in available cap space, depending on where you look.
It's probably worth noting that I'm pretty sure this is counting us signing our rookie class. I think overthecap had us closer to 40 not counting it.
That's the point we're at, with about 40% of our starters hitting the FA market...
And to be fair, most aren't worth keeping or likely come back cheaply. The two that are (Kirk* and Hunter) could lower cap hits. I starred Kirk because I probably don't keep him and find a cheaper option that probably doesn't experience much drop off. Given the free cap in 25 and position we're in to grab a QBOTF, if the team wanted to go for it and retool, now or next year is probably the time to do it, though I'd argue given where we're drafting and the depth of the class right now, we should be getting our QB now.
