I'm going to breakdown each position on the team. Looking at what's available to us at the moment with current options I see. I am not ready to evaluate the draft eligible players yet, so the rookies listed is based on whos projected high not who I like in order.
This the foundation thread for all things gathered for me as we move closer to decisions. I will put all my info on QBs here from pressers of prospects at the combine (to see the makeup of guys) to film study and highlights. Most of all my final thoughts will be here once I left no stone unturned.
Note: All ages are the age of the player on Sept 1st 2024.
Currently under contract:
1.Nick Mullens, 29yrs - He can move the ball but a pick magnet. This been going on since he been in the league: Cap#2.275m save 1.9m if cut.
2.Jaren Hall, 26yrs - Already 26 yikes. Still developing will be in camp. The surest one to hang around.
FAs from the team:
1.Kirk Cousins, 36yrs - our best option based on pure ready to go talent today, but for how long? At what price?
2.Josh Dobbs, 28yrs - Took a flier don't see no way he is back.
Who's available?
Free Agents: Interesting Bridges:
1. Gardner Minshew-28yrs
2. Jacoby Brissett- 31yrs
3. Drew Lock-27yrs
Free Agents: Only if desperate: I don't want but under the worst scenarios:
4. Ryan Tannehill-36yrs
5. Russell Wilson-35yrs
6. Tyrod Taylor- 35yrs
Draft options:
1. Drake Maye-22yrs
2. Caleb Williams-22yrs
3. Jayden Daniels- 23yrs
4.Michael Pennix-24yrs
5. J.J. McCarthy-21yrs
6. Bo Nix-24yrs
So far outside of trades this what I see as the best options available. We can't just bring Kirk back and ignore QB we saw what just happened. So regardless I think we need to look at the draft QBs. Even for 2 years so what, they would still have two years to ball after Kirk if we keep him. These the options I see right now. I like playing GM so my thoughts will be strictly how I would handle things if I was making these decisions. Mine is more of what I will want than what they likely will do. These would be the names at my desk right now if I was Kwesi outside of a trade or someone else springs free.
