Penix's issues to me are mostly about footwork and can be corrected imho. Recent rumors seem to be pointing to Maye or McCarthy as the Vikes primary interests, but the team might be putting out a really good smokescreen, we won't know until Thursday night.
As for footwork, KOC was just quoted talking about fixing issues that are "below the waist". In other words, you can't fix a slow processor which is why Justin Fields and Zach Wilson both got dealt for 6th round picks a few short years after getting drafted top ten. Maybe you can fix inaccuracy, but outside of Josh Allen I'm not sure who's done it. But you can fix the way a guy sets his feet and moves.
He's had bad footwork for several more years than Maye. And Maye's accuracy issues are footwork related just like Michael's. Less bad muscle memory to reprogram for Drake.
What Maye doesn't have is Edge-like arm length that leads to a long wind-up. Penix is going to be Top 5 in strip sacks and eventually ascend to #1. That throwing motion is a byproduct of having crazy long arms and won't be fixable.
Ball placement is more important than accuracy. Penix has the worst ball placement of the Top 6. He just got bailed out a ton by 3 Top 100 WRs in a spread offense making tons of acrobatic catches. And again, not a lot of layered throws over the MOF.
