Year 3 with KAM & KO - How we feelin'?

Ingram was 52nd out of 58 qualifying guards in pass blocking efficiency and gave up the 3rd most pressures of any guard despite only playing 15 games. I know PFF has him graded at just below average but the results, from the run game to how he did in pass protection, tell us he is still pretty awful.
He is what I want out of a #2 RB and what many Vikings fans thought Mattison was as a #2 RB when Cook was still here. Not good enough where you want him starting every game, but enough burst and wiggle where he can pick up the slack if the starter goes down. One of the biggest needs this offseason is a #1 RB imo.

Chandler would probably look better if he was run in a system that catered to his style of running. I don't think that was a bad pick, but his usage is questionable and I still personally want another back for 2024 to work with him. Ingram was more a reach than anything. He's gotten better admittedly and has shown some promise this year, but... I agree, the 22 class was bad by any metric so far. Maybe Smith retires and Cine really steps up (not holding my breath) and the other two shine in year 3. That at least makes it not puke worthy given the 2 years of very little production, but even in that rosy scenario that draft is getting a C at best. And that's a rosy scenario that I would not wager a PPA prediction on, much less real money.

How is Kirk making it personal? Tell me what he's said and done to make it personal.

KO and KAM actually both want Cousins back, but KAM and/or ownership seems less likely to budge on the terms. Maybe that's something to celebrate, but maybe it's not. It's no secret at all that KO loves Cousins and wants him back; he's the one who has to coach the team and get wins out of the roster - and that's who he wants. I've thought for a while now that the culture of collaboration wasn't all that it's been cracked up to be. This adds to it. The HC and GM not being on the same page regarding quarterback is less than ideal. Like it or not, but Cousins and Hunter are both ranked top 5-10 in most FA rankings. Likely losing both is going to suck. The talent-deficient roster takes another hit. That's never ideal, especially heading into year 3. A lot has been botched here, and it's disappointing.

Oh, I'm far from mad. How did I overvalue Cousins? I've always maintained he's a top 8-12ish QB. So, what are you even talking about?

The botch is a franchise paying huge coin to Kirk for six years and having one fluky wildcard playoff win to show for it. Followed closely by fans crying that the franchise is doomed if it doesn't once again hand that guy whatever he wants. It's like like a woman stuck in an abusive relationship who keeps coming back for more beatings. Sick and sad.

I will see how I feel about them next week...If they hold the line and let Kirk walk I will gain a lot of respect for them. They still have a lot of work to do but that is my basepoint to start. This is their biggest offseason of their tenure, they have to nail it. They have been clearing the books, and havent made any defining moves yet. You cant erase the 22' draft blemish but you can still come back from it. Goodluck to them.
