Year 3 with KAM & KO - How we feelin'?

Nailed it right on the head. They haven't looked like they've been building anything for several years. The closest thing to plan has been Kwesi working to clear the board of bad contracts. Other than that it's been flailing and trying to maintain status quo. Desperately trying to eek out playoff appearances or division championships.

8 teams win their division every year and 14 teams get to the Playoffs every season. It isn't special or impressive.

The Lombardi trophy is Special and forever, the other stuff is quickly forgotten. This team has been too worried about missing out on the division championships and playoff appearances and not focused on building a contender to steamroll and take it all.

I don't give a damn about being "competitive", I dont want to get in and see what happens. I want to dominate, I want the Vikes to own the NFC. Preseason when the talking heads are prognosticating about the coming season I want there to be no doubts. I want them in unison to say the NFC runs through Minnesota.

They are not anywhere near that, how do we get there? Fiddling around with a formula that has failed for multiple seasons over two coaching staff does not seem the path.

it's time to get over the 2022 draft

I am upset at this regime and have doubts why. Because a year ago we had decisions instead of sound , convincing decisions we punted and delayed things. That’s why I named him slow motion. So if I already told y’all KAM slow and now others seeing it a year after me brings issues. What are the issues I am concerned with?

Kirk , Hunter and Jefferson…. Jefferson you had him locked up almost and let it slip through. If you wait things only get more expensive don’t play with your best player.

Hunter, I begged and begged not to kick that decision. We had been hosing DHunt. I wanted to resign him. I understood if they didn’t but then you trade him. To make matters worse you had one more chance mid season and failed again. If you couldn’t get a decent return for Hunter then that’s an issue of not knowing value and negotiating on Kwesi part. Hunter gone.

Kirk you drew a line in the sand. Said this all we can do. Even holding on this moment. If you cave you clueless and don’t have no plan or sense of direction. Nobody else paying Kirk past a year. If they do they crazy and he has a 50/50 chance of hurting that an Achilles likely the other one within 2 years.

We suck and will bring him back I personally guarantee it. We will pass on all the good young QBs and it’s a shame. But it’s what we do.

If you add up the draft capital it's more than half, likely about 65-70% since the 2023 class didn't have a 2nd and its 3rd was the last pick of the class.

As I've said before, in those two classes they spent about 55% of the capital on DBs... and maybe one of Evans or Blackmon starts next year. Cine, Booth, and Ward are all multiple injuries away from starting.

We hear about the dangers of spending a 1st on a QB, meanwhile it's been year after year of spending high picks on DBs just to see them fail and have to pick them again in future drafts. The downside is the same - you draft a bust... except the upside for a QB is that you have a player who can be a game-changer for the offense at an insanely cheap value compared to a shutdown CB whose prime is probably 3-4 years and while valuable isn't going to anchor a defense without talent in the front seven.

You can't whiff on an entire draft class and expect to be a serious contender...
