Wow only 3/22 votes are to keep Cousins. What a massive shift that seems to be.
It’s starting to feel like keeping him is no longer the safe route for ownership/management. The fan base is finally realizing it’s not going to work continuing the same old path that got us here with Cousins (1 playoff win in 6 years). This is great news because they hate taking risks. Now the risk would be keeping it seems, fans are finally sick of this push for mediocrity nonsense. The feeling fans have now only gets worse if we do similar next year.
This is the most optimistic I have been we will truly change directions in a while.
Of course, definitely agree it’s not that extreme everywhere. I have seen it elsewhere too including other forums, Twitter, a buddy who works at a liquor store and friends/coworkers too. It’s not all to this level but it’s a much different feel from past seasons from a lot of people in total.
Even the wilfs avoiding the post game situation is a big difference from the norm. I think it’s becoming more of a situation where there is pressure on them to allow real change/rebuild even if it’s a risk. That feeling scares them, they liked cousins because of the comfort mediocrity and always being close brings. It’s no longer acceptable to this fan base it seems. That’s good.
I just like seeing more of this fan base get it. See the actual problem here and focus more on calling that out. We have needed to rebuild for 4 seasons pretty clearly but I haven’t seen this much of a shift in the fan base until now. My hope has been when that happens the wilfs will finally change the approach. We will see I guess.
