QB options for 2024?

This is the point lol. You tell people who don't look deep that they are ignoring aspects just to focus on wins. Then when someone does look deeper into context you tell them they are looking too deep. The reality is that context always matters and those that try to avoid it have an obvious agenda/narrative they are trying to run with. That's true whether it's bashing cousins solely due to wins or propping him up solely due to stats. The answer is in the middle. 

I don't know, it requires watching most of the games to have that answer. I can tell you I have watched enough of Mahomes over time to say he is the best QB in the league though and his ability in key moments is a big part of it. Lamar is unique in the sense he often makes plays with his legs. I think that leaves a little issue when teams are able to take their run game away but he has played at an MVP level carrying the offense multiple times so he is in that top 10 group. Purdy and Goff seem a bit more reliant on their situations/less talented from what I have seen but especially with Purdy it is too early to tell where he will end up and seeing what he does in tough playoff moments will likely be a key aspect. 

It doesn't need to be something where the player is only focused on stats, I never said Kirk only cared about them anywhere. It's probably moreso that he lacks the ability to make plays off script and avoids risks which often will lead to throwing short of the sticks or checking it down (if not a sack or throw away). His decision making under pressure is sometimes a bit questionable. 

No problem, its no different than when you constantly use strawman arguments insinuating nobody understands that defense matters lol. Glad you caught on to how that looks when the tables are turned. 

I have seen it discussed many many times and that includes conversations you were involved in (with me and others). I have actually asked you before to quote a single person saying that type of thing where the wins and losses are always on Kirk play and that alone. You have literally never been able to quote a single person saying it! It's a narrative you are making up. 

The reason people don't care as much about your stats as hoped is that they often are completely ignoring context. Not every year is the same and the game has changed over time. All 5 of the top seasons in terms of points per drive for the entire NFL happened while Kirk was on the Vikings. So you need to put context around the data and find where the offense actually ranked in terms of points to be meaningful which would be looking at where we ranked in ppd compared to the rest of the league: 24th, 6th, 10th, 15th, 12th in his healthy years (18th this season). So on average over those healthy years this offense has ranked about 13-14th in terms of points per drive compared to their competition and that is while consistently having great weapons to work with. As I keep saying context matters and that is where your stats/points always seem to fall apart. 

Again the 13 win season came during his 2nd lowest td total, lowest td %, lowest QB rating, 2nd highest interception rating with the vikings and so on. I actually have given him props for his play that year due to situational football despite the stats being worse than normal. The stats are meaningless in terms of gauging how he actually played in those big moments but guess what? The wins increased despite bad defenses. Bad defense, bad stats (comparatively), clutch QB play in key moments lead to the best win total of his career. I guess at the end of the day maybe those focusing on the wins are judging in a better way than those basing it on stats?  Is that what you are getting at bringing it up? 

And his third down conversion rate last year? I noticed you failed to mention that. See, what I have learned over the years is that people who don't like a particular QB will find any reason to want to get rid of him. If it wasn't Cousins 3rd down rate, or lack of situational football it would be something else. It always is. Interestingly, the 3rd down conversion rate didn't come into play the his first two years in MN.

And I have yet to see any numbers on his conversion rate compared to Mahomes, Allen, Hurts, Jackson, Goff, Stafford, or any other QB in the playoffs the last two years.

Sorry, I have never mentioned or propped up anyone on third downs.  Ever.  

Generally postseason stats are not any better than regular season stats when it comes to QBs. Oh, you might get the hot hand every once in a while. But the reality is in football, when you play in the postseason you are usually playing better defenses so it's harder to have better stats. Now, that is an assumption on my part, I have never done a post-season stat comparison. Although it would be interesting. There are a few players who have enough numbers to make a valid comparison. First, you would have to determine how many postseason games one would need to qualify. Maybe I'll do that when I get bored. I'm currently working on something else at the moment.

I think they sign him for another 2 years at around $38 to $40 a year.   If not, who do you replace him with?   That is the ultimate question.  But I also don't expect him  to signed until after the draft. 

I think he resigns too. I already predicted that in the prediction thread. As who that what they doing now looking at draft prospects and free agency.
