QBs never get to choose their coach. And most coaches don’t last long enough with a team to find their QB. They get thrown together and people hope for the best and when it doesn’t happen one or both are blamed.

Of course I was upset. It was right after that disastrous "effort." I've since watched several cute cat videos and have calmed down some. FSUVike did a better job explaining it than I ever could have, but...

I was leaning towards Mullens for a while now, definitely after the bye. When Dobbs was announced as the starter, the best I could come up with is:


There was more on pages 6-8 in the support group thread, but I definitely leaned towards Mullens, but understood giving Dobbs another shot based on the freakish thing he did for the second half of the Falcons game and the first half of the Saints game. But since then? He's been figured out. Know how KO gets figured out, and the offense goes missing for a quarter, or two, or now four? Well... 







I think we were all under the impression that the offense would look a lot different with Dobbs after the bye. If anything, it was more of the same. Okay, it was worse. Ugh... A lot of Vikings fans (not necessarily here) thought Mullens should get his shot, because he's literally been QB2 the whole time, but, KO had other ideas...


And here we are today, just a few days later, and KO hasn't even committed to Dobbs as QB2. When the defense has only given up 1 TD in three games and we're somehow 1-2 in that span, I don't think it's outrageous at all to suggest that our QB2 could've gotten us another win or two. But I'll let KO tell it:

Now, imagine all that time during the bye spent on Mullens and a better offensive game plan than, say, Dobbs and whatever that was ... ?

He says all those nice things about Mullens - Cousins' QB2 since Day 1 - but yet chooses Dobbs anyway? After the bye? After suggesting Dobbs was almost benched against the Bears? Because, feelings? Well, that almost cost us another win. Of course it's upsetting! After this rollercoaster ride, I still want the playoffs!

I'm not saying Mullens is going to be some superstar. He might even suck. But when it was clear to everyone that Dobbs was shaky and overwhelmed, that wasn't fair to anyone, including him. Mullens at least knows the offense. He's been Cousins' backup for a reason, right? I said all this last week.

And speaking of backups, what if Dobbs is QB3? For KO to commit to Dobbs as QB1 after the bye, and then be reluctant to even name him as QB2 a few days later? That's a HUGE blunder. No two ways about it. For everyone's sake, I almost hope Dobbs is backup, because if KO is suddenly admitting that Mullens and Hall are better options, then, well, to put it mildly: WTF?!?

Mullens is the starter, what more do you want? My points is that "knowing the offense" isn't the most important factor, being the best quarterback is. I hope Mullens is that guy, because he is our starter this week.

If he sucks and is replaced by Hall who does well are you gonna kiss my butt? I didn't think so. You didn't after claiming KO was going with Dobbs all the way and...how'd that turn out?
