If the Bears play like they did against the Lions they have a shot of not blowing the lead in the 4th quarter. But I have my doubts. Cousins is out for the year, and Dobbs is playing OK, but the end of the Vikings game last week was brutal. Justin Jefferson was out last week, no idea on his status this week. I can do all of the analysis that I want, but the fact remains that this is a divisional match up, and Eberflop's record is pretty brutal in these games. This will be on the national stage, and I don't think that will help us either. If the Bears get embarrassed on prime time TV, will that be enough to fire Eberflus and Getsy during the bye?
I think Justin plays another pretty good game, still misses seeing wide open receivers, and Herbert runs for over 80 yards. The defense plays well, and JJ actually holds on to a gift wrapped interception. Sweat lives in the backfield most of the game. However none of these positives will be able to overcome another brutal coaching performance by Flus and Getsy. Botched playcalling and poor clock management leads to another loss.

Eberflus has never won a division game. I don't see that changing against the Vikings.
Fields looks good, coaching screws up what should be a win. Vikings score 10 off of turnovers and hit the winning FG.

I dunno, this defense gave us fits the last time we played them and I'm not quite sure I trust our coaching staff to have answers.
Defense does what it does, plays decent football for the majority but when all the cards are on the table they will tuck their tail between their legs and cower.
Lastly: Eberflus defeating a NFC North opponent, on national television, nonetheless? Ha!

Huge game for Justin after laying an egg against Flores and the Vikings defense in Chicago.
Fields is ready for the Vikings' pressure packages - he does have a tipped pass INT but hits both DJ Moore and Darnell Mooney for TDs. The Bear defense intercepts Josh Dobbs twice.

Eberflus back in 2024 gains modest momentum as he and Poles secure their first win over a divisional opponent and first win over an opponent who, at game time, had a winning record.

Kind of see this game going as the Lions game. Flashes of brilliance then dashes of doom. It will be frustrating as usual. I see Fields getting out of jams with his legs, but that won't be enough. Vikes will throttle DJ and no one else steps up.

From what I’ve seen, like 90% of Dobbs playmaking happens outside the pocket. If there was ever a time for Flus to “set the edge” it’s Monday. Send at least 5 every down and make him a statue.
We are coming on...I think we win this one. The biggest question is how our OL can handle the pass rush, they did very poorly last time.
i think this is last years patriots game. we smoke the queens 38-22. the world says holy sh*t, then we lose the rest of the season and pick number 1 and number 2
Eberflus is an absolute master at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
It doesn't matter how many advantages he has: Fields playing well, a good running game, a defense playing with pluck and passion, Eberflus will sweep these obstacles aside and wring disaster from looming triumph.
I think the Vikings will try to give it away but Eberflus will have done of it.

I have a feeling this one will be close, unless the Bears are completely unprepared for the Vikings blitzes a second time.

Will the Bears actually win their 3rd prime-time game of the season? That would be something. A lot depends on if good Luke or bad Luke calls the plays along with Flus getting his head out of his ass in the 4th quarter and not going away from successful defensive schemes which worked all game to that point. Don't have hope for these issues to not appear:

I am going to go against the grain here and say the Bears will win this one for the following reasons.
1. This game is meaningless in regards to this season.
2. Losing this game holds more long term value to the team than winning it by getting an elite-top player in the draft.
3. Murphey's Law gets applied to Bears fans at a higher rate than average.
So JF will play well again, a positive overall, and the Vikes will be Flus's first divisional win in a manner which hurts the draft picks.

I will always root for the Bears to win, but at the same time, I'm so done with Flus that I would rather see him gone even if that means we have to lose out. Plus, it gives us a lot of ammo for the next season, draft-wise.
So last week I took a departure from my normal stance of "we are winning all our remaining games" and said we would go 6-1 down the stretch. Since we lost last week, the only way to get to 6-1 is to win all from here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last week Fields didn't have a great stat day when looking at the passing game, but it looked as if he was making reads better and using his legs more. I think it was on the DJ touchdown that he went through several reads and the way the defense was playing him he could have taken off and gotten 20 yards +. But he made the correct call and a great throw (might not have been that pass, bu tit was one of his better passes for the day). I think his progression continues.
Looks like we will have the OL we projected to be out there at the start of the year for the second game in a row (with Patrick in for Whitehair who I think we, and perhaps even the coaches, feel is done). I think that helps out a ton as well. Whitehair was my projected weak link on the OL to begin with.
Fields doesn't become Patty McHomes this week but this week his progress is easier to see in the stat line. 24-29 for 256 yards, 2 TD, and ZERO picks, fumbles or sacks!!!!!!!! He uses his legs again to add in an additional 93 yarrds and a TD.
The DL continues to grow as a unit. We rack up our second most sacks in a game with 5 - Sweat 2, Ngakoue, Pickens, Dexter and Walker each with one; the secondary also continues to gel playing with each other and come away 3 picks. Edmunds gets a call from his agent this week who reminds him he still young enough to secure another big contract but not if he plays like he has. That lights a fire in his pocket book and he has the greatest game of his life - forces multiple fumbles, tight coverage such that no passes are completed to the player he is covering, is a tackling machine including 5 for loses, heck I forgot about his agent calling him earlier we don't get 5 sacks, we get 7 as he's getting 2 by himself!!!!!!

No Justin Jefferson so I think we gotta chance!

A good DC and HC could start unraveling Dobbs.
Flus seems like a moron though.
Flores will come after Justin.
Game could go either way.

It will be interesting to see if the Bears adjust to the Vikings' blitz this week compared to a month ago. It shouldn't have been a surprise then either, so I am not sure how a month is going to help, but the O-line is at least healthier. That won't help free runners though.
If the Bears play anything like they did in Detroit then they should be able to get a lot more boos in the new Hump dome. Just need Flus and Getsy to keep their heads in the game when it matters most.

I'm the kind of fan that wants to see wins no matter what. Draft plans are meant to be sorted out after the season. Football season is too short to not pull for a win each week imo. I want to see Fields running and throwing the ball all over the turf. I want the D flying around attacking the ball. All the new coach talk and draft talk is fine for during the week, but Sunday (or Monday in this case) is for playing the game and I want to see a Bears W!
Go out there and be aggressive. Run some plays you haven't called before. Make the Vikings adjust on the fly! Tell Fields to go out there and give em hell! I don't know what the answers are, but I do know playing soft zone on 2nd and 2 or running into a 10 man box aren't working! Everyone from Eberdlus on down needs to just go out there and let it all hang out. That's what I want to see on Monday night.

I agree with the idea that this game is very winnable but for our putrid coaching staff. So I figure it's a loss. It'll be a close loss but a loss just the same.
Thoughts on their thoughts?!
