Well, folks...after a few weeks' worth of study, I believe I have a grip on who our miraculous QB actually is, at least in terms of relating to Vikings QBs of the past:
he is the new, improved, Teddy Bridgewater!
He is more aggressive, has more arm, is almost impossibly loveable to fans and analysts alike, is very intelligent, and can make plays with his feet.
He also is limited to a few moves/reactions, cannot really throw himself or the team out of trouble convincingly, lacks accuracy, and is sometimes too quick to scramble.
Tonight, we saw what happens when the o-line looks a bit more like its old self, when seasoned defenders know how to respond to repeated tendencies, and saw him overthinking after some plays went poorly.
None of this is unreasonable, he's still learning plays, names, and familiarity and has done astounding work in a tiny amount of time...but, he's either not syncing well with some receivers (Addison, the big example), or he is simply unimpressive in terms of accuracy/timing/strength.
NOLA and the Broncos showed that they could adapt to him, and he suddenly looked a good bit less miraculous. The question is (and I mean that, it's a question I don't pretend to know the answer to, yet): can he and KOC build with and around him enough to really make a run?
Tonight's loss is truly annoying, especially as all of our position rivals won, but it's not huge...yet. If the Bears figure him out, Hall should get to compete for starts after the bye.
