I don't believe we are in need of a QB to draft next year. Not when you have Dobbs & Hall...
The only QB's the Vikings have under contract for 2024 are Nick Mullens (signed a 2-yr, $4m contract w/ Vikes in Mar '23) and Jaren Hall, who will be in Yr 2 of his 4-yr rookie deal...
Unless Hall returns to the QB1 position during the 2023 season and convinces everyone that he should be the QB1 in 2024, the Vikings will need to make a move in the 2024 offseason for a QB1...resigning Dobbs...resigning Cousins...drafting a QB in the early Rds of the 2024 Draft...or some combination of the two, depending on the price of Dobbs/Cousins on the open market...
Another good thing about Dobbs playing so well for the Vikings in 2023, even if he doesn't resign w/ Minnesota for "bridge" QB money and signs a Geno Smith type of contract elsewhere, the Vikings would likely get a decent comp pick in 2025, which may be a 3rd...
If Dobbs doesn’t want to sign a cheap contract to continue to prove himself we always have Hall who is athletic.
No need to burn a draft pick on a QB now that we have 2 to choose from and develop. We can use that pick to get a blue chip defender.
