The Great Nemstradamus will now peer into your past! I shall bring back the dead! Yes this is the stuff of your worst nightmares.
Quotes from the past that you were hoping would never see the light of day again. They must live! They shall live!
This year's dead topic brought back to life is: What do you expect of KIRK COUSINS, circa early 2018.
Enter if you dare. Bwaaahahahahahahahahaha
Well that was weird but only half right.
Sucker.
If only you knew...
Raptorman 's REAL expectations...revealed!!!! And was he? In 2018? 2019? Before the scapegoat defense fell off a cliff?
OK!!
Fixed it for you.
Why even go if we're not going to WIN?! No thank you. Win. WIN the Super Bowl.
Well it would be easier if we just don't go. So far so good!
Why even go if we're not going to WIN?! No thank you. Win. WIN the Super Bowl. That's a good question. Just ask Bud Grant and Fran Tarkenton. lol
But you're right, we are going to win the super bowl. Dalvin Cook will be the Super Bowl MVP. You heard it here first. And second too!
Another loss would suck but I would hope it would at least be close and entertaining next time. A blowout win would be ideal ofc because my nerves couldn't take a game that came down to the wire.
Lucky for you your bad nerves are still intact!
Surely you jest, Vulcan.
9) Minnesota Vikings
If - BIG IF - the Vikings stay healthy, anything outside of the top 10 would be extremely disappointing.
And what were we? 17th? 24th? At least that Super Bowl win the next year made up for it...I mean Conference Championship...I mean...postseason appearance.
Would you settle for 8-7-1 and no playoffs? That's the Vikings version of 12-4 isn't it?
Bookkeeping advises me your membership expired some time ago. Would you like to renew for 3 years at the bargain Achilles injury rate of only $119 million?
Well...not quite, says History.
Disappointment? Isn't that what we add to our morning coffee?
Problem #1 is this doesn't mean anything for the playoffs except we have a slightly better shot at home field advantage. Cousins is just as likely to get rattled on that stage as he is to be sharp. He's never been there and the pressure will be tremendous.
Problem #2 is I'm fairly certain that Flip will do such a good job with the offense someone will hire him away as a head coach next year.
You should have stuck with #1. That you Drank?
Saved.
.
Oh it changed alright.
Of course. It was KIRKTOBER silly!
*sigh* I think so. And I hate when I have expectations for this team.
Well don't worry...if you keep not accepting reality maybe the disappointment will never come! You'll always have this
Wow you've really changed in 5 years. Yeah, just kidding.
This guy below always had good takes, I wish he was on X and metube and tic-tac
Zippo, dude, zippo.
But I don't need expectations to enjoy watching. The whole point for me is to be surprised, to find out what's going to happen. If I thought I knew enough about the outcome to "expect" anything except terrible tragedy, it wouldn't be any fun at all.
And by and large, it hasn't been. Happy Day of the Dead! Be careful what you say, it's only 365 days until the next Day of the Dead.

My expectations for the offense are that they'll be great and a lot of fun to watch!
Sucker.
Right now my expectations for Kirk are for him not to take a knee when he meant to spike the ball.
If only you knew...
To be at least as good as Keenum was last year. Anything better than that is extra gravy.

We're going to the super bowl

Yeah if we get blown out again then that'd be demoralizing. In 4 Super Bowls the Vikings haven't scored a single first half point. And in 2 games they didn't score until the 4th quarter. 35 combined points and 949 total yards in 4 games, or as the Eagles and Patriots called it, halftime.
Another loss would suck but I would hope it would at least be close and entertaining next time. A blowout win would be ideal ofc because my nerves couldn't take a game that came down to the wire.

Cousins doesn't get the ball out quickly, and he fumbles a lot when hit.
Surely you jest, Vulcan.

12-4, we meet Rodgers and GB in the playoffs.

Even if he has a poor year his floor is what Keenum put up last year.
People just love setting themselves up for disappointment lol.

If we're just talking stats I think Cousins has a #1 fantasy QB type season. 30+ TDs, 4k yards plus a couple running TDs. His skill position talent has been significantly upgraded. The dome environment inflates stats. Most importantly though, is DeFillipo. We saw a big step forward when we gave Shurmur the offense and I'll think we'll see another one this year. Flip is the next of the Shanahan/McVay types where he has the ability to create opportunities for easy completions via play design. Cousins is a great fit for what he wants to do.Problem #1 is this doesn't mean anything for the playoffs except we have a slightly better shot at home field advantage. Cousins is just as likely to get rattled on that stage as he is to be sharp. He's never been there and the pressure will be tremendous.

I said it before and I will say it again. We're going to the super bowl, and winning it. SAVE THIS QUOTE. This is OUR TIME NOW.
Saved.
To be fair the Vikings averaged over 30 minutes on time of possession in 2017! It was incredibly apparent that with a lead Zim did not want Case to be doing a whole lot out there. That absolutely changes with Cousins.
.
Oh it changed alright.
comic relief.
Is it just me or is the national perspective on Cousins getting more positive after yesterday?
Of course. It was KIRKTOBER silly!
During halftime of tonight's game, Howie said that with the addition of Cousins, anything less than a Super Bowl is a failure. Are we officially ... Super Bowl or bust?
*sigh* I think so. And I hate when I have expectations for this team.

The only thing Cousins adds to the SBOB reality is the level of disappointment we are all going to feel when they come up short once again... and again... and she told two friends.... and they told two friends....
Wow you've really changed in 5 years. Yeah, just kidding.

I told ya before. I have no expectations. At least not any good ones. Why would I want to build up expectations? Just so I can watch them smashed to smithereens in the seething surf? Vikings do much better without any expectations, and now we are the team to watch. We will be super bowl favorites from the beginning, maybe not to win it but to at least get there and not choke like chickens again. Everyone will be expecting things from the worthless pundits and tweeterheads to the last fan in the stands to the coaches, management and owner. Probably even God. What reason do we have to believe that this team or any Viking team in history can come out on top under pressure?
Zippo, dude, zippo.
