So what does KOC want in a QB for his offense?

I feel like there are a few different debates going on worth consolidating here, and if someone wants to merge this, whatever. I was going to post this in one thread, but I'm pulling content from multiple threads. Although I'll bring up KC, let's not turn this into a Cousins thread or a defense thread please :)
I really do believe we're starting to see what KOC wants in his own QB. They had better intel on Levis than virtually anyone else and pazzsd. Levis is also more of a pocket passer. Instead, he takes a late round flyer on a kid with wheels. And once Cousins goes down he gets the adult menu version of the kid he drafted.
Which makes me wonder if they don't have a high grade on Penix, Jr. He doesn't look to leave the pocket much and Washington doesn't run much RPO. Might he prefer Daniels or McCarthy and their dual threat capabilities?
This is something that stands out. KOC likes mobility. However, I do think Kirk's accuracy comes into play here more than people realize. What I think KOC really wants is Aaron Rodgers with a bit less DIVA. Cousins has the arm/accuracy without the mobility of Rodgers (though to be fair, Rodgers is much better in the turnover department too). He also has been coaching Kirk to be more mobile. That's something we've admittedly seen more of the last two seasons. It's been painful to watch, but we have seen Kirk sometimes break those bad habits for good results.
I'm kind of wondering this too. I don't think Kirk gets a big contract this offseason personally. And I believe him when he says he wants to be here.
Uncle manages a great future QB thread in the draft forum. He doesn't have this week's college results up just yet, but he has last week's up here. So who is the guy? Since we're "competitive", I don't think we're going to get one of the top 2 without mortgaging years worth of picks. But looking at this and looking at Uncle's spreadsheet, I do think there's probably a couple of day 2 guys they are locked in on. The big problem is that some of them could go back to college, but what if someone were to tell one of them (I know they cannot wink wink) that the Vikings were going to take him with their 1st round pick. Kwesi was going to trade back to the 30s and still draft him (5th year option), let him sit a year, and then play him. Kirk likely comes back in this scenario on a 1-year deal. From a cap standpoint, that does change the dynamics a bit, because the way his contract is structured, his dead cap is spread over 3 years, so only one of those void years hits. And Kirk isn't getting 40M a season at age 36 coming off of an Achilles tear. He's going to be a bridge QB whether he likes it or not, with one more shot at closure knowing he's mentoring a QBOTF. But this also plays into Kwesi's cap management strategy as well.
Having seen McCarthy play a bit (OSU fan), I'm not as big of fan personally, but I'm not a scout either, and I haven't watched him at all this year, so perhaps he's gotten better. I'm a bit surprised that Schreuder Sanders doesn't run... at all... but reading the thread he moves in the pocket very well. He'd have been my thought as to who they'd have locked in on, but I'm guessing it's Daniels or bust. There are a few targets they could do this with. It would be a slight overdraft in the 30s/late 20s, but not a bad reach if they had the right fit for the future offense and might be worth the 5th year option and basically a red-shirt season to acclimate to the NFL and develop.
still haven't fully digested this one. Not terribly familiar with Dobbs but he does (as someone mentioned) seem very much like Hall. What I get from that (as someone also mentioned) is sense that this is the kind of QB that KOc likes. And if that's the case, with 2 of them on the roster now, Kirk is done here. there's no way we strategize the rest of the season for a mobile QB then go back to a 36 yo statue next year.
This is exactly what he's doing. Mullens can scramble some but he's a pocket passer. Hall and Dobbs can run RPOs and will run for yardage if the opportunity is there.

Oh you guys are going to love this.
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins won’t play again in 2023. There’s no reason to think he won’t play in 2024.
Even though he’s due to become a free agent and the Vikings have no way to prevent Cousins from entering the open market in March, Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell made it clear on Tuesday that he’d like to see Cousins come back next year.
“Kirk Cousins is going to be healthy again,” O’Connell told reporters. “I know he’s going to be a free agent after this season, but Kirk knows how I feel about him and that will be something, you know, that hopefully will work itself out. . . . You guys know how I feel about Kirk. Kirk knows how I feel about Kirk. I think he was playing as well as anybody in the National Football League.”
Cousins arrived in Minnesota in 2018, as a free agent. The fact that the Vikings had not extended his contract this year created the impression that the Vikings were willing, if not inclined, to move forward without him after 2023.
Now, that all changes. Cousins was thriving under O’Connell this year. The injury could make that a lot easier to yet again continue the relationship, from reducing his options to making him and the Vikings determined to try it again next year.
