Kirk's injury overshadowed so many good things from yesterday's big win over Green Bay, so let's talk about something other than...that.
The Vikes DOMINATED the Packers at Lambeau. I don't care if Jordan Love sucks, I don't care if the Vikes left points on the field...they controlled that game from beginning until the end.
Jordan Addison COOKED that smug-ass Jaire Alexander for two TD's, and did a Lambeau Leap on his sorry ass after Alexander did the Griddy on JJ. Karma, b*tch. If Kirk hadn't gotten hurt, all anyone would've been talking about is Addison's Lambeau Leap into a bunch of Vikings fans. It was glorious.
The Packers legit suck ass, and Jordan Love is the second coming of David Whitehurst. If you know, you know. The Vikings are 2-0 in the division, with both wins coming on the road, which is huge. The Vikings have a legit offensive line, for the first time since maybe 2017.
On defense, it really looks like they're starting to gel under Brian Flores. His scheme should be called Hellfire Chaos, and I hope beyond hope he's here for at least one more year. When Kirk got hurt and then Joseph's field goal was blocked at the end of that drive, it really felt like a patented 'here we go' moment that has turned countless Vikings victories into defeats over the years. But the defense stood tall and kept Green Bay from scoring. Even though Green Bay isn't very good, it was still an impressive fourth quarter for them.
I don't know what the future holds with Kirk, but I do know this--there isn't a much better place in the NFL for a young QB to come in and be successful. The Vikes have a good o-line, some serious weapons on offense to throw the ball to, and a defense that can hold up their end of the bargain. They need a better run game, but I think Jaren Hall has a fighting chance to do well.
What happened to Kirk sucks, don't get me wrong, butthere's still a lot to like about this football team this year.
